Red vs Blue: New Generations {Book 1}

Chapter 8

Grace and Marcus were over the planet of Sidewinder, her mind still full of raging thoughts towards Allison and her crew of misfits whom were able to escape her and her finest soldier's grasps with no issue. She couldn't help but think that Allison was going to be a pain in her butt, but she wouldn't let the young girl win the war. She looked at her tacpad, reading her whole profile, everything from any conditions she possibly had which was noted that she did have the exotic ability of a delta subhuman but how was beyond anyone's understanding and that she had a higher intelligence level than most kids her age to her medical background. 

Her eyes widened at every word of it, that she was technically born with some enhancements that were inputted into both of her parents' bodies to help them in combat but what caught her attention was the reported mental link she had to a Freelancer A.I., one that made Sigma get annoyed at the thought of him still being around. Theta was one of the stronger of the many fragments that were created by the Director because he was the most stubborn and with him being a whole A.I. thanks to Wing merging the remnants of the A.I. known as Keeper. 

"You okay, Grace?" She heard Marcus say behind her.

"Y-yeah, why wouldn't I be?" She said out of defense, she was known to act all tough but there was a reason for it, she hated to let on her being weak nor could she be. Not when her goal would be put at risk of failure. 

"Come on, you can only throw on the act as long as you think you can be all strong and unbreakable, sometimes you got to stop it as I do care for you, hon." 

"True."

Her voice went to a softer more kind voice then the sudden reminder of Allison flushed her out of focus, the girl was crafty and possibly Wing's only match if she were to turn against her but to turn someone against their goal is like trying to persuade a innocent to kill someone close to them, nearly impossible unless you know how they want then you can play a cruel scheme to get them to turn to your side. Grace turned to the monitor and saw movement coming from the surface of Sidewinder, a ship was about to leave but there was none that they known of. Then they saw the Mother of Invention's ancient hull lift into out of the atmosphere, this shocked everyone.

We all got buckled down as we knew that this was going to be one ride that one would get car sick way too easy on as this ship hadn't gotten out of atmosphere in eons, which I was worried if we didn't get a chance to get to our parents and save them. There was a risk of death, the possibly of this ship being blown out of the sky was real and we all knew it. Worst of all, we had the best pilot driving who could never land worth a darn, I swore I caught Simmons or possibly the whole group praying for success which is saying a lot.

"THIS IS FREAKING NUTS!" I heard Tucker yell.

"YEAH, BUT YOU SIGNED UP FOR IT SO SHUT YOUR TRAP AND HOLD ON!" Sarge called back. 

[If we die, I'm going to blame it on your 'bad idea.'] Theta muttered to me.

Have faith in me, I know what we'll gonna do and I know we'll live so just don't think about the possible death by being blown up. I said to him.

We broke atmosphere and we saw the New Legion ships watching us, like they never thought they would see this old corpse rise from it's grave again. Grif admittedly acted, started the warp drive, set it to a set of coordinates that we were unaware of as he yelled back to West. "YOU KNOW, YOU SHOULD BE GLAD WE WON THAT DARN BET WITH VIC!"

We wrapped and I watched Kate grip on to Jace tighter than anyone has to anyone before. Jaden and I chuckled as we were alive, so this was what one would call our laugh of 'YES, WE ARE ALIVE AND TOTALLY ARE NOT ****ING OUR PANTS!'

"Holy cow, your plan freakin' worked, freakin' blue!" Sarge said to me.

"Of course it did, she has my attitude and ideas!" Wing remarked.

"That or we had 'sher darn luck!'" I joked as I turned to Jaden and West whom were basically puzzled by what I met but then I managed to get Wing to nod. 

I know how this was short and all but I've been doing some things with some friends and so I too had to take a bit of a brake from this to get some more ideas for what shall do next for new chapters. I hope to add more chapters to this and so, I hoped you enjoyed and I'll see you in the next one.
