"Hey, Moma." I say to my mother when I walk into her hospital room.

She is awake and very alert, eating a bowl of red jello.

"Oh, hey, baby!" She greets me in delight as I bend down to hug her tight.

"How are you feeling?" I ask as I pull away, remembering that she was said to have been in a coma.

"I am feeling just fine. Ready to get up out of here. They said that I can leave in two days, isn't that great?" She informs me.

   "That's great, Moma." I say.

"You just missed your brother and sister. They left not to long before you got here." She informs me.

"That's alright, I'll see them later." I tell her.

"What happened to your face?" She asks.

"Its nothing, Moma." I say as she takes hold of my face to examine me.

"Who did this to you?" She says in shock.

"I got into a fight. Its no big deal-"

"Again? Why were you fighting this time?" She asks, kind of embarrassing me.

"Ugh, just some dude that was running his mouth, Moma, but I'm okay. Mitch is here!" I say, changing the subject.

"Hey, Moma." Mitch says with a huge smile as she hugs my mother.

I feel Aleah come up behind me and wrap an arm around my waste.

"How are you Ms. Monroe?" Aleah asks as she goes to hug her as well.

"Oh, I'm good, baby, nice to see you again. Is that your baby?" My Mom ask as she looks as Vezi.

"Yes, this is Chel'Vez." She introduces them.

"Hi, there." My mother speaks to him and he just waves at her. "He is adorable."

   "Thank you." She says.

"So, do they know what's wrong with you, Moma?" I ask her.

"Well, no. They are still running tests and doing blood work." She tells me.

"Oh," I say, a little disappointed. "Well when you get out, we'll celebrate. I'll take you out or something."

   "Sounds great, sweety." She says.

"Alright, time for your follow-up, Ms. Monroe." I hear a women say as she walks into the room, I assume she is her nurse.

"Alright, it was nice seeing you, Moma." I say I hug her again, followed by Mitch and Aleah. "I'ma bring you som' sweet tomorrow, I know they in here feeding you like the diabetic you are."

"Oh, that would be nice!" She says cheerfully. "See you later, I love you."

"I love you, too, Moma." I say as we all make our way the door.

When we get into my car I take a puff from my asthma pump.

   "You okay?" Aleah asks me.

"Yeah," I reply, wiping the sweat from my forehead. "I just hate hospitals. I'm glad we finally outta' there, I felt like I was gonna' up chuck."

I pull out of the parking lot and honk my horn at Mitch, who is getting into her own car.

   "You hungry?" I ask Aleah.
