"Who is it?!" Mitch yells as she looks through the peep hole. "Jae, it's yo' big brother!"
She opens the door as Aleah and I come down the hall.
"Awe, Mitch, wussup?" He says as he shakes her hand.
"Nothing much, bro. Wussup with you?" She asks.
"I can't stay long, I just stopped by to see if Bird was gone come with me to see, Moma." He says as he stands in the doorway but doesn't come in all the way.
When he sees my face his eyes grow wide.
"Damn, sis' what happened to your face?" He asks as he checks out my battle wounds.
"Man, its a long story. Just know I won, nigga." I say to him with a smile.
I try not to smile to hard because the gash on my lip is still very painful.
"If you say so. I'm 'bouta go see Moma, I was gon' ask if you wanted right with yo' bro." He says.
"Nah, I'll drive up there." I tell him.
"Alright. Audrey and James suppose to be going up there too, we can all just meet up." He informs me.
Audrey is our sister. Her full name being Audrielle and her husband is James They also have a beautiful daughter name Jamées; named after her father. Audrey and Anthony both share the same father, but me on the other hand, I have a different father and so does our other brother, Marcus; who now lives in Texas.
"Oh, okay. I'll be there," I tell him.
"Ight, I gotta' go." He says as he steps back out of the doorway. "Put some ice on that lip, Bird." He adds with a chuckle.
"Yeah, whatever." I snap as I step out of the door as well, Aleah coming up next to me.
"Oh, who is this?" He says as he eyes Aleah with a smile.
I feel really stupid for not introducing Aleah to my brother. It had completely slipped my mind.
"Oh, my bad. This is my girlfriend, Aleah. Aleah this is my brother, Anthony." I introduce them.
"Nice to meet you." She says to him as they shake hands.
"Nice to meet you too. Damn, Bird, this the forth one this month, ain't it?-"
"Aye, Ant! Come on! What's taking you so long?!" I hear a deep males voice say, cutting Anthony off in the middle of his little joke.
I peak around to see an unfamiliar car parked in my drive way behind my car.
"Whose car is that?" I ask my brother.
"My daddy car. I'll see you later." He says as he walks away.
Hearing him say those words made my heart pound. I see the drivers side door open up and out steps his father; tall, dark, and sinful. I feel like our eyes were locked for an eternity; images flashing before my eyes as he glares at me with a blank look on his face. He nods his head before getting back in the car and pulling off once Ant gets in.
The chills he has sent down my spine has frozen me. Memories begin to flood my mind. My heart is beating so fast and hard against my ribcage that my chest is hurting. My palms grow sweaty as my breath grows shorter and shorter.
"Jae, come on so I can finish cleaning your face." Aleah says.
Her words sound so far away, all I can hear is my thoughts. I clutch my chest as my heart pounds even faster. I feel like the air is being sucked from my lungs. I can't tell if this is a another panic attack or not. It could be an asthma attack, but I haven't had one of those since I was 15.
