"I got it, its okay." I tell Aleah before getting up and leaving the room.
On my life, I I'm hoping its her baby's daddy standing at the door. I swear, I'd bus a cap off it this niggas a'ss for putting his hands on Aleah. I know I hit women, but that's different then him doing it.
Isn't it?
"Who is it?!" I yell through the closed front door.
"Its me!" I hear a tiny voice scream.
I look through the peep hole and see a tall old man standing there with a big smile on his wrinkled black face.
I swing the door open and look the old man in the eye.
"Well, hello. Who are you?" He asks me, with a deep voice, different from the one I'd heard before.
"Who are you?" I retort.
"I'm Deccan Magnese and you are?" He replies as he stretches his hand out for me to shake.
"I'm Jae-"
"Hey, Jae." I hear that tiny voice say again, but it didn't come from the old mans mouth.
I look down and see Aleahs son standing at the knee of the old man, holding his hand. JJ smiles at me before stepping through the door.
"See ya' later alligator." The old man tells JJ.
"In a while, crocodile." JJ replies before I close the door.
The room suddenly grows awkward as JJ and I lock eyes. As I stare at him, I take note of his facial features. With a full head of light brown, curly hair, big hazel eyes, big, pink lips, and caramel skin, he looks exactly like his mother. This makes me wonder what his father looks like.
Is he tall?
Does he have hazel eyes?
Does he have big lips?
Does he have curly hair?
What race is he?All these thoughts and curious questions running through my mind at once as I stare at this kid. I look down and notice that he is holding a sheet of paper with crayon scribbled on it.
"What's that?" I ask him.
"My paper I colored." He informs me as he lifts it up for me to see.
Its a picture of Jesus Christ walking with two sheep. I see that JJ had colored it green blue and Lord knows what other colors.
"Awe, that's Wussup, lil' man." I say as I rub the top of his head, messing up his big curls.
"Wanna' hang it on the fridge?" I ask as I head to the kitchen.
"Huh?" He ask with a confused look as he follows me to the kitchen.
"Here," I say as I take a letter 'C' magnet from the refrigerators door and point to a spot on the door. "Let's put it there."
He brings me his paper and I help him hang it up.
"Now your mommy can see it." I smile at him.
"Where my mommy?" He asks me.
"She's sleeping." I tell him. "Wanna' hang with me until she wakes up?"
