My bones crack and pop as I stretch. Classes today seem to have been long and drawn out. It feels as if I've been in a seat for more than a week when in reality it has probably only been an hour.

Something hits the back of my head. I turn to glare at Malfoy who is sitting two rows behind me with Avery. A huge smile stretches across his dumb face.

Avery hits Malfoy in the shoulder, earning a small smile from me. He winks in my direction to let me know he has got my back. I give him a thumbs up in return. I turn back around right as we are being dismissed.

As I pull my bag up over my shoulder, Avery and Abraxas take either side of me. I glance between the two of them before slipping out the classroom door.

Abraxas slings an arm across my shoulders, "So Hogsmeade weekend is coming up."

I hum in acknowledgement, urging the boy to go on.

"Be my date." His voice is strong and confident. Poor boy is going to be put down a peg or two.

I sigh, "I'll pass on that thank you."

Avery snickers, causing Malfoy to swat at him. The blonde boy draws his attention back to me. "Why not?"

The look on his face is so serious that I can not help but laugh at him. "Truly Abraxas? You're a stuck up twat."

His arm lifts from around my shoulders. He slinks off into the sea of students in the hallway.

Avery bumps my arm playfully, "Harsh. I think you bruised his ego a bit there."

I shrug, "Oh well. It's about time he had that big head of his deflated a bit."

He chuckles but his mirth is cut short. I glance over to him to see him looking further in front of us. Coming our way is Fleamont Potter and Silas Weasley. I know many of the Slytherins care about blood status but I did not know on of them was Avery. Maybe it is something else. I try to tell myself that Avery is not like his little group but a part of me is doubtful.

Avery's voice lost its amiable tone, "I'll see you later, Elysian."

Before I could say anything he walks off. Something is going on and I am going to find out what. Avery has never acted this way before so it is a huge change in attitude. I just wonder if it has to do with his group of 'friends'.

I stare after where he went and sigh. I turn my gaze to the two boys.

"Hey, Elysian." Fleamont says happily.

"Hello boys." I greet back with a smile. "What can I do for you two?"

"Well the girls and the two of us want to go as a group to Hogsmeade this weekend." Septimus says, "You in?"

I nod, "I suppose I can put up with you all for a few hours."

Fleamont gasps, "I thought you loved me, Elysian. I'm honestly hurt."

I roll my eyes, "Yeah yeah. So what class do you two have next?"

Septimus sighs, "Well I have Potions."

"I've got Defense Against The Dark Arts." Fleamont answers.

"Septimus I'll trade you. You take my Ancient Runes class and I'll take Potions." I laugh as his face brightens up before it falls again.

"I wish you could. I hate Potions." He mumbles bitterly.

Fleamont chuckles, "That's only because Professor Slughorn doesn't like you after you blew up half his classroom last year."
