Chapter 6: The First Encounter

Agent 8 and Captain Cuttlefish stepped off of the train. "What in the..?" Cuttlefish looked around, hearing a noise, "Oh...that darn phone again. 8, do you mind answering it? You did the first time, after all."

8 nodded, pressing the button on the phone again. "Congratulations 10,008!" The phone practically shouted, "You have successfully obtained all four thangs!" The phone made a couple of beeping noises, "Say, you want to go to that promise land I told you about?"

8 nodded, "I do."

"Well give me just a sec then! Let's get you outta here!" The phone started whirring, purple sparks shooting from it as the back flew off. The first thang attached to the box of the phone, whirring up to the top of an odd looking device. A door on it had come open. "Come on in!" The phone said, "The promise land awaits you!"

Cuttlefish cheered, "Let's get home, boy!" He headed inside, with 8 alongside him.

The door closed. They started to rise up into a container.

Ingredients collected. Beginning extraction.

What? Agent 8 thought. He immediately started pounding away at the container, as Cuttlefish started to panic. "Don't worry! We are going to try to get you two out of there!" 8 heard a voice. It was Marina's.

"Well try harder!" 8 said, becoming more panicked. Then suddenly, a crash was heard from above.

"Let go of them!" A voice said. Then, the container was knocked over, crashing to the ground and breaking into many pieces.

"Woo-hoo! We are alive!" Cuttlefish cheered.

"Yeah..we are." Agent 8 smiled. Then, he seen a body among the pieces of the container. The body was that of...an inkling. This one is a girl... 8 thought. She...saved us. He approached the inkling, kneeling by her side. He felt for her pulse. She still held one. 8 let out a sigh of relief.

"Hey 8, who is that?" Cuttlefish asked. He followed the question with a gasp. "Agent 3?!" Cuttlefish's eyes widened.

"So this is the one you were looking for?" Pearl's voice rang through this time.

Cuttlefish started to tear up. 8 looked back down at Agent 3, "So this is who i fought back then...isn't that right Cuttlefish?"

Cuttlefish nodded, "Indeed. That is Agent 3."

Agent 8 smiled. The girl he apparently had fought in the past, just now saved his life. "Thank you, Agent 3." 8 said, finally returning to his feet.

"I will stay here and watch over 3." Cuttlefish said, "No squid left behind! Go through the hole that Agent 3 made, and get your way home!"

Agent 8 stood there almost in shock. To go out there weaponless was just asking to die. Nevertheless, he super jumped through the hole in the ceiling. He landed onto a small platform. "You are weaponless, Agent 8. Be careful." Marina said with a cautious tone. 8 swam up to the top, the stealthiest mission of his life awaiting him. This is going to be great. He thought.
