The test was passed. The little jingle all too familiar rang once again, the little mem cake floated in front of Agent 8 one more time. "Now, time to make it out of this hell." Agent 8 said, selecting the station that the final thang resided.
Agent 8 grabbed the Splattershot from the equipper, and ran to the thang. Unlike the others, this one was guarded. "Who are you?!" Agent 8 asked.
"Me? Well, if you must know..." the figure said, turning around and facing 8, "I am your worst nightmare."
The voice...seemed familiar. The figure pulled down its hood, revealing the face of an...inkling? This inkling had a similar outfit to that of himself. The primary difference was that a bandana wrapped around the inkling's head, covering his mouth. "Like you..." he said, "I have been trying to make it out of here...but..." he paused, and chuckled, "given your success, it appears as I will fail, again. Unless..." he paused once more, raising a Splattershot of his own, "I kill you here and now."
The inkling started shooting at 8. He ducked at first, then returned fire. The inkling threw a Splat Bomb, knocking 8 back.
Agent 8 slammed into a wall, his Splattershot clattering to the floor. "Well, well, well..." the inkling chuckled, "I guess my time has come."
The inkling took aim, finger resting on the trigger. Fear grew in Agent 8's eyes. The inkling fired. Agent 8 rolled away, then sprinted at the inkling. "Here goes nothing!" 8 shouted, as he delivered multiple swift strikes to the inkling's torso and back, bringing them closer to the edge of the platform. One wrong move and I am gone...I have to place this right. Agent 8 thought. The inkling attempted to swing at Agent 8, but before anything could happen, 8 delivered a hard kick, knocking the inkling off the platform. Agent 8 turned and grabbed his Splattershot from the floor, and retrieved the final thang.
"Now, its finally time. Let's get out of here." Agent 8 said, boarding the train for hopefully the last time.
