I stood there without making a move, without breathing as I stared into Tobias's eyes.

This wasn't real... it couldn't be real.

"Are you alright?" the beautiful woman asked, breaking me from my frozen state. I wasn't sure who she was even asking the question too, but I was grateful none the less as I moved my eyes over to her concerned face. Her eye's filled with worry as she looked over to Tobias, answering my question as to whom she was concerned about.

I didn't even bother looking back over to Tobias to see why the woman was so worried. I glued my eyes to the middle of the table and waited for a response.

"Yeah... just peachy," Tobias finally said breaking his silence.

"You sure? We can always just go back to your place if you're not feeling too well," the woman suggested flirtatiously with a small smile spreading across her lips.

"Again, I'm just peachy. I just thought I saw someone I knew." Tobias said almost blandly. Was he talking about me? Did he really act like he didn't know me at all? I mean, it wasn't like we were friends or anything, but geez, would it kill him to be nice and fake it.

The woman in the red cocktail dress looked back down at her menu before shifting awkwardly in her chair. I wasn't sure if it was because Tobias turned her down or the way Tobias answered her question but something definitely deflated her ego a bit. "Ok," the woman once again spoke up, "Do you have a favorite drink here?"

I continued to stare at the same spot on the table, hoping he would just answer her question so I could leave.

Tobias stayed quiet before answering, "Mm... I don't know. Miss Elena, was it?" he asked causing me to look once again over to him, "What is something that you like here? That is... if you are legal to drink,"

I gawked at him as if he had grown three heads. Did he really not remember me from the wedding? Was I that forgettable? Before I could question myself about anything else, I decided to be the bigger person. Who cared if he was the ass that almost hit me with his car, who saw me in my bra, who gave me the most smoldering look those soul trembling eyes could give for two days and who saved me for a drunk man, which only God knows what that drunk was trying to do. If he really didn't remember me then fine.

I put on one of my fake server smiles as I answered his question, "Why yes sir I am old enough to drink legally although, unfortunately, I'm not much of a drinker. But I will be more than happy to bring you another server who would be able to give you the best recommendation."

Tobias continued to look at me with a single finger over his lips as if he was really soaking in the information I was telling him, "Why don't you drink?" Tobias questioned, removing his finger from his mouth.

"What?" the woman and I asked in unison as we both looked at Tobias as if we didn't hear him correctly. Tobias continued to look me straight in the eye, "Why. Don't. You. Drink?" he repeated himself sounding slightly annoyed.

"Um," I muttered before answering, "I don't know, I just... I don't care for it personally." I answered truthfully, still not sure why he cared to know.

"Well," The blonde woman spoke up looking back over to me, sounding slightly annoyed herself, "I think it would be great to get that other server now, please," she stated, smiling the fakest smile I had ever seen.

"No that's all right, please just bring us a glass of your finest red wine." Tobias simply stated as he looked back at his menu before quickly shifting his eyes over to the blonde woman, "If that's all right with you?"
