"Uhhhh," Mia groaned loudly as she leaned back into her office chair causing it to squeak in protest, "I hate people."

I chuckled lightly to myself as I organized the list of messages left for Laura before she came to the office, "What? Another demanding businessman?" I teased.

"Demanding? More like asshole!" she huffed, "Why is it so hard to understand that neither Mr. Tobias or Sebastian Quinn are not available at the moment. Like geez! You would think these people would at least wait for them to get into the office. I mean, it's not even seven in the morning yet! The nerve!"

I tried to hide the smile that threatened to cover my lips but failed miserably as I watched Mia vent out her frustration.

"The nerve? Now you sound like my grandma," I commented, "I didn't expect you to come in so moody this morning with you going on that date last night." I winked at her as I smiled.

"Uh, please don't remind me!" Mia exclaimed dragging her hands down her face before letting them fall to the desk.

I raised my eyebrows in shock, "Oh no... was he a no show?" I asked looking concerned for my friend.

Mia shook her head as she crossed her arms over her full breast, "I wish. He showed up, but fifteen minutes late then he wouldn't stop talking about himself the whole time. The only time I spoke was when I ordered my food! At the end of dinner though he started to talk about heading back to my place, which I was all for. I was praying to at least have something good come out of this date. But no! That didn't even happen either! Why? Because he fell asleep as soon as he got into my bed!" Mia practically fumed.

I couldn't help but laugh at the events that happened to Mia the night before, "Geez Mia, I didn't realize you could put people to sleep like that." I joked causing Mia to lightly push my shoulder.

"Hey! I bless men with this body! That dude didn't know what he missed out on," Mia stated proudly as she placed her small hands on her hips.

Suddenly the sound of elevator doors opening stopped our conversation as we both turned toward the direction of the sound. Quietly discussing something between each other, Sebastian and Laura came walking through the office toward the desk that Mia and I were stationed at.

"Good morning!" Mia and I said in unison as both Laura and Sebastian came to a stop at the front of the desk.

"Good morning Elena," Laura said with a small smile that didn't quite seem genuine, "Any messages today?" I simply nodded my head and handed her the piece of paper with all the messages that she had received while she was out of the office yesterday.

Her eyes quickly scanned over it before letting out a loud sigh, "It's going to be along day." She stated.

"If there is anything I can do to help, please let me know." I offered, hoping to be of some sort of help. Laura nodded her head, "It's ok. Almost all of these calls I have to take myself but thank you. It's nice to know I have someone to count on." she said with a more genuine smile before walking off to the spare office that she has been using.

I watched as her retreating figure leave until it disappeared behind the wooden door. I hope everything was ok... Laura is usually more upbeat in the morning.

"Heres all the updated numbers you asked for yesterday. And, oh! Here is the possible new contract for the Downtown project. Mr. Wells said to make sure to look over it and call him if you have any concerns." Mia informed Sebastian as she handed him a packet of papers.

"Thank you. Scan the contract and email it to my brother, you can put the original copy on my desk." Sebastian said before walking back to his own office.
