Travis
I spent the day alone, dwelling on how I possibly may have pushed Sal into a pit of 'hating Travis'.Every little thing made me nervous. Leaving the tap on slightly, the television being up too loud, even the unorganized shoes by the door.
Everything bugged me, everything around me looked like a reason to get punched in the mouth or kicked in the throat. I spent all my time perfecting these things.
I even went so far as to making sure all the forks and spoons in the cutlery drawer were facing the same direction.
My father wasn't home, but my mother was. She had passed out on the couch hours ago. I kneeled down beside of her and put my fingers to her neck. She had a pulse. I grabbed the throw blanket off of the bottom of the couch and laid it over her.
My mother has always had a drug problem. Mostly various sorts of pills.
She breathed steadily, and her skin was still at the natural color it always is. She's okay.
I led myself up the stairs quietly and swung a right into the bathroom. Looking in the mirror, I felt like a dumbass ignorant teenager, fated to die young. When I was with Sal, I felt like I was looking at the sunrise on the beach, I felt so good.
I really hope he doesn't hate me.
I popped open the medicine cabinet and peeked at the bottles, snatching the one that read my name.
'Take two as needed for anxiety and nervousness.'
Alrighty. Down the hatch. I dumped two of the green pills in my mouth and swallowed them dry. Then continued to stalk around the house looking for things that might make my father angry and fixing them.
Sal
Larry, Ash, Todd, and I were all sitting in a circle on Larry's floor. Three unopened pizza boxes sat in the middle of us.Ashley was the first to snatch one up and open it, "Do we have any drinks?" She asked while pulling up a gooey cheesey slice of pepperoni.
"Depends. What kind?" Larry took his slice- three slices.
Todd pitched in, "What do you have?" He took two.
Larry grinned at us sheepishly, "Beer, milk, and water." To which Ash groaned out.
I got my two slices of Pizza and tilted my head down with my prosthetic up above my mouth, inhaling the first one in no time.
"I wanted soda, man.." Ash sulked as she wiped grease from her lips. "Get me water, I guess."
"Me too." Todd added.
I raised my hand as a 'me three'.
Larry gave us all a look of distaste, "You all have fuckin' legs."
We laughed and joked around, and between the four of us, the pizzas all disappeared until all was left was two measly slices.
"Guys.." I said, leaning back and rubbing my stomach. The three looked at me, "What if Travis never talks to me again?"
Ashley looked confused, "Why would Travis talk to you anyways?"
Todd looked the same as always.
I sighed a little. They wouldn't tell anyone, either.
"Travis and I have been dating for like... i dunno, four months now." I mumbled, fiddling my thumbs.
Ash let out a loud screech, "WHAT!?" She covered her mouth and I could see gears turning in her head. "You sucked off Travis in the bathroom!"
I nodded, "Classroom, but yes."
Larry widened his eyes and put a finger to his temple, "I'm gonna be honest, I didn't think about that.."
Todd hadn't said anything, he just sort of watched with an unamused expression glazing over his face.
I sighed loudly, "We got in an argument yesterday and havent talked since then. He probably hates me, I was being a dick and he got really mad and punched the gravel."
Ashley rolled her eyes, "Anger issues, I'm pretty sure we've known Travis has em."
Larry nodded in agreement.
"He cuts himself." I blurted out.
"Who?" Todd piped up.
Larry gently punched Todd in the shoulder, "Travis. Pay attention, dickweed."
Todd yelped and mumbled something about dickweed not even being a real thing.
Ashley was the only one who was actually talking to me about it. "What? How do you know?"
I rubbed the back of my neck, "On his thighs... I saw his thighs when I.. you know.. and they were kinda... bad."
"Does he know you used to?" She said, blinking her emerald eyes.
"Well.. no.."
"Tell him." She leaned back and smiled, "Honesty is the number one thing in a relationship."
"I thought it was love?" Larry said in a dumb voice.
Ash rolled her eyes, shaking her head. She ignored him and turned her attention back to me. "Look, Sal.." She crossed her legs, pushing her bangs back. "Arguments happen in relationships. They're going to happen. A lot. That's how it is, you can't just call it quits because it gets a little rough."
I slid a finger in the side of my prosthetic to rub my eye, "I dont even want to call it quits- I'm scared he does."
"Have you apologized to him?"
"No. He should apologize, too." I stated.
Ashley giggled a little, "Yeah, but aren't you the one who ran him off?"
For a minute, I thought about it. I guess I did kind of run him off. I was harsh.
"Yeah.." I grumbled.
Larry snorted, leaning forward with his elbows on his knees.
"Sallyface, dude, then just suck up your big ass ego and apologize for being a dick." He waved his hand around, "Then he'd probably say sorry for leaving."
Ashley nodded, "Exactly."
