chapter 15

"THE BLACK ROSE"

[HOSEOK]

Back to the present...

"Stella hold up." I wiped my eyes after being sprayed with the coloured water but as soon as I open my eyes, Stella was nowhere in sight. "Dayum, that girl sure is fast..." 

Black Swan huh... Who the heck is she..?

I looked around at the back lawn that was filled with many walls of black roses stacked into a maze. "Hah," I walked down the stairs before walking to the entrance of the maze, "I guess now I should find Scarlett," 

"Right here!" 

At that moment I heard her voice calling out to me and as I turn to face the direction of where her voice seems to be coming from, I saw Scarlett running away from me, "Hey, wait for me..." Without wasting any time, I went into the maze and chased after her resulting in me going further into what seemed like an endless maze. I watched her make a right turn but as I went after her, I run into a bunch of random people running into the opposite direction of me.

"Run!!!" 

Looking at the back of the crowd running towards me, I saw another group of people with a bandana wrapped around their forehead in order to create a clear distinction between the hunters and the hunted. In their hands held the water gun aiming and ready to spray at them resulting in forfeiting the game. Not wanting to lose the game even before attempting to save Scarlett, "Oh god," I made a 180-degree turn and ran along with the group but when they made a left turn, I made a right turn only to meet a dead end. In hopes that I can figure my way to Scarlett, I looked around to see if I was able to spot something recognisable. 

"Who am I kidding?!"

I ruffle my hair when I realise that the idea was pretty redundant and that everything looks exactly the same; the same rose walls, placed horizontally and others, vertically. I punched the walls once again stupidly as my knuckles brushed against the rose thorns, "Ouch..." I held my wrist and look at my skin that was pierced. 

"Well, that was stupid."

"Hoseok..."

That sounded like Scarlett. I turned to face the entrance of this dead end, "I'm here," I looked over my shoulder to the left. "Come on, Hoseok..." Her voice echoed everywhere around me as if she was at many places at once. I looked around before hearing her giggle and the leaves on the opposite side from where I was standing.  "Scarlett is that you?" 

Once again, on the other side of the wall, I could hear a giggle, the same one Scarlett would always let out in enjoyment, before the person on the other side started to run away from me. 

"Hey wait."

I too turned and started running to chase after the person but before I could get further away into the maze, following the mysterious person, someone whistled at me from behind. "Hoseok?" The voice giggled before calling out to me once more, "Why are you running?"

Trailing the voice that this time sounded closer to me, I look up to the sight of Scarlett sitting on the top patch of the wall staring weirdly at me. Although I was a little freaked out, a smile seemed to be able to form itself at the end of my lips. "Says the one sitting at the top of a throned rose wall," I smirked as I fold my arms. "How did you even get there?"
