| Chapter 11 |
"So what you're telling me is that I'm originally a fairy from a realm called Magicia. And I am the daughter of the Queen of Impixia, also your twin in that world. I also have the season of winter stored within me to wield at command and that is why winter has been dormant, not just here, but weakly displayed elsewhere?" I asked as I looked at Myra with my brows raised. It sounded so....impossible.
"Yes. Recall your first dream that you shared with me as your grandmother," Myra pointed out. "You said you were running in a forest and a voice kept telling you to hurry, run, and don't look back. That actually took place. It was me telling you that," she added.
"But why?" I asked with a furrow between my brows.
"That...is a tale for another time," Myra replied.
"I thought the woman you were talking to said to tell me everything," I brought up.
"You eavesdropped," Myra said.
"Only because I thought it was a weird dream. And you were speaking in my room with me in it so you can't point the finger at me," I shot back. Myra sighed and rubbed the space between her eyes.
"Anyway, the truth will come out in due time. Right now, you know everything you need to know to get you started. You shouldn't have found out now...that reminds me. How did the whole pain situation start?" she asked with a confused look on her face.
I glanced away and rubbed my arm. "Well, I had another dream once I drank the medicine gran, I mean you, gave me. I dreamt we were at the edge of the forest opening up to a clearing where trees cast long and dark shadows and you were trying to get me to go into the log cabin that was in the darkest part of the shadows. I couldn't hear what we were saying but the one thing I did hear was 'it's time'," I explained. The words echoed in my mind. "Was that also real?" I then asked.
Myra was froze in shock and slowly nodded. "Yes. It appears that the Mysterious One wanted you to know early," she answered.
"Wait, as in the Mysterious One from the prophecy book you gave me?" I asked in shock. She nodded.
"I thought it would be good to get you used to the idea of prophecies before you remembered your own," she explained and I shook my head in disbelief.
"Oh my gosh," I managed to get out. "But, why did it want me to know early? Lyzel said I had to be an adult," I found myself saying and with Myra's confused look, my eyes widened.
"You know Lyzel?" she asked.
"No...not really. It just slipped out," I said softly and slowly as I tried to recall. A faint memory of me talking to a woman with snow white hair in a crystallized ice room began to bloom. "I...think I'm remembering. Is this normal?" I asked as I gazed at my twin from another life with wide eyes.
"Honestly Crystal? I'm just as stumped as you are. I'll have to inquire with mother. But in the meantime, you have enough information for the day. Tomorrow we can start filling you in with more and try to get some training in. The Mysterious One wanted you to know early for some reason. It must mean that the prophecy is starting. The darkness is moving," she stated as she stood up.
"Wait, what's the prophecy?" I asked as I stood up after her. She looked over her shoulder and smiled.
"You'll remember soon enough. I assure you," she simply replied before walking out.
I sat back down on my bed stumped. What was happening? When I said I wanted answers, I didn't mean this. But...it made sense. The minute the pain began and disappeared, my so called powers were activated. The temperature had dropped until I was fully in control of myself again. And my dreams were slowly piecing itself as scenes from my memory of another life on Magicia.
"And my mom knew. Myra told her. But my dad...how did he know? He must've known before I was born. But he's missing. And nobody, not even Myra or my supposed fairy mother, can trace and locate him," I whispered to myself.
I groaned and threw myself backwards on my bed. My brain felt like it was being fried. I was feeling physically and mentally exhausted. "This has to be a dream," I mumbled.
And I told you it wasn't, a voice spoke in my ear and I screamed as I jumped up and looked around.
"What? Where?" I demanded. No one was in.
I'm speaking in your mind Crystal, I heard Myra's voice say and sure enough, it sounded like it was in my head.
"Can you stop? It feels weird," I huffed. This would definitely taking some getting used to. And once again, as if hearing my thoughts-- which she was probably doing-- she answered.
Get used to it. This will be the most efficient way to communicate with you. But don't worry. I'll keep from reading your thoughts. Although we'll have to train you from letting others read your mind, she told me.
I sighed. "There's a lot to do, huh?" I asked.
Yes. You have eight months until your eighteenth birthday. If you manage to have things under control by then, we can leave and start our search for the three others, she answered.
I perked up. "Oh yeah! There are three others! I wonder what they're like," I commented.
Focus, Crystal. Your mission isn't to gallivant around. It's to band together with the three others and prevent darkness from growing, Myra explained.
"Yes, yes. But that'll be more real if I can recall the prophecy. Until then, why not allow me to bask in the knowledge that my wish actually came true?" All was quiet and I sat up confused. "Myra?"
"Just for today I'll allow you the freedom to take it in," I heard her say behind me and I jumped in shock from hearing her voice in person. "But after that, I'll need all your attention, capiche?" she asked as she pointed a finger at me. I nodded. "Alright. I'll make dinner." And with that, she disappeared again.

Who's ready for Crystal to get started on her training? I am! And surprise! Crystal is Kyra. Be honest, how many of you saw that coming? ;) Until next update!
