| Chapter 18 |
The Watson's Inn was as grand as it looked in the pictures, if not grander. The pictures could not capture the brilliance that the place radiated. From its tall, vaulted ceilings, to its comfort golden theme, to its space that rivaled the Hampton Inn lobby, if not neater and wider.
"Mom handles all this?" I asked Myra as we walked in.
"Yup. She and your father inherited this from your father's side. Your mother has been holding it with the help of Regina, the second in command of Winged Wonders," Myra explained.
"You mean HQ?" I asked. She nodded. I still had questions about this 'Winged Wonders' place, but I figured I'd get the answers soon enough.
"Yes. Ash went ahead of us to inform Regina of our arrival. We should be seeing her very--ah, there she is," Myra corrected as she nudged her head to a beautiful woman with long, honey blonde hair heading our way. She wore a black knee length skirt with a white, elbow length shirt and a black blazer over it.
[Credits to the very talented person whose initials I can't read xD Loved this picture and thought it fit Regina perfectly!]
She flashed us a wide smile that practically glowed white against her caramel colored skin. I drew closer to Myra on instinct. "Hello, and welcome to the Watson's Inn. You must be Myra and Crystal. Do follow me please," Regina commanded softly as she turned her back to us. Myra followed her, so I hoisted my bags and did the same.
We walked passed guests and employees alike and went down a hallway that was built in the back of the building. We came across a door that had no handle, but merely a small panel next to it. Regina lifted her left hand and flashed her watch's screen at it. The light on the panel flashed green before a clicking sound was heard. Then the door slid opened with a small hissing sound.
I blinked at the sudden brightness. When my eyes adjusted, they grew wide in surprise. The room was stark white with only four bean bags adding color to the room. Regina led Myra and me further into the room. As soon as we stepped over the threshold, the door slid shut with a small hiss.
"Please, take a seat. I'm sure you have some questions," Regina offered with a polite smile as she took a seat on the white ottoman.
Myra took a seat on the white loveseat and I decided to sit on a beanbag. It happened to be the blue one. I looked at the other three. Red, green, and brown. "For the four seasons?" I asked. Regina smiled.
