A Family Meeting

Grayson's POV

"So what was it like to see Daniel again Grayson?"

"Not good, he's all bruised and had a cast on one of his arms. This new relationship he's in is not good for him Chandler. But he's doing it to protect us. I just can't believe he's taking all of those beatings just to keep us safe, he shouldn't have to."

"I know Grayson, but Daniel is trying to protect our family, because he cares about us and he loves you Grayson."

"I know mom. I just wish he didn't have to suffer. His new boyfriend has probably killed him by now."

"Daniel's a tough guy, after all he was struck by lightning and survived. And he survived a lot more, so he can survive this. We just need to have faith."

"I know dad."

"We know that it has been rather quiet here lately, and that you hate it that way Grayson, but you need to understand that nothing lasts forever, and if you don't want it to be quiet it around here why don't you just invite some friends over and have a sleepover."

"Because it won't be or feel the same without Daniel. I haven't been having much fun since he left us."

"Give it a chance Grayson. You never know you might just have a boisterous time with your friends."

"I guess I could give it a try mom."

"I know why you miss Daniel so much Grayson. It's not just because you two were dating, it's because you two did everything together and always spent every minute of everyday with each other. Not to mention that both of you saved each other's life multiple times."

"He nearly got me killed more times than he saved my life Chandler, he even tried to snap my neck."

"I know he did, but he couldn't do it because he cares about you way too much and he knew that he would regret it for the rest of his life. He was even crying when he had you in that position."

"I know, I could feel his tear drops fall onto my shoulder."

"Daniel would never hurt you Grayson, and everyone in here knows that."

"Of course he would never hurt me, he loves me. And nothing's going to change his love for me, and vise versa."

"You two do make a cute couple."

"Mom, you're embarrassing me."

"So Chandler how are you handling the fact that Danny isn't here?"

"Well, I do miss him a lot. Since he did always know how to start up a conversation, and would always make us laugh, but it's like Grayson's been saying it's just too quiet around here. If he were here right now, we'd probably be playing at the park, and sometime later we would be playing on his Xbox which is still here up in Grayson's room. But I do wish that Grayson was here, not for me or you mom and dad, I wish he was here for Grayson because he makes him happy. Since he's not here Grayson's just been depressed, look at him, he's just staring at his feet right now. You can tell that he really misses Daniel, and I'm worried about what he's going to do if Daniel isn't able to safely reunite with Grayson."

"What do you think I'm going to do? Turn into Daniel's old self?"

"I'm not saying that you will, but it's always a possibility. A possibility that I don't want to happen if it does."

"I'm not an idiot like Daniel was. He tried to kill himself a shit ton of times, and he was always cutting himself over stupid things. It was ridiculous."

"He only did those things because he felt guilty of..."

"I know Chandler."

"Look, I know that you know why Daniel was cutting and trying to end his life, but you still went out of your way to help him stop. And over time he did stop. And he was extremely thankful for everything you did for him."

"I know he was and still is, but..."

"What's wrong?"

"Daniel looked like he was on the verge of suicide when I saw him in the hospital. He was just so banged up, I feel really bad that I couldn't help him. I tried, but I failed. Daniel needs us. If he doesn't get the help he needs he's going to end up killing himself. I saw that look in his eye, I knew he was thinking about it. He even has twelve new cuts on his forearms. Six on his left and the same amount on his right. I'm worried about him. More worried than I've ever been. He's scared of him. And we need to save him ASAP."

"But we don't even know where he is. Plus he deleted all his social media. I tried messaging him but I couldn't message him on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Kik. But his accounts no longer exist."

"His new boyfriend must've forced him to delete every social media account he had, but what if he still has one left? One that his new boyfriend doesn't know about?"

"But what other social media would he have? Wait, did he ever give you his email?"

"Sadly no. I-I-I'll be right back."

I got up from the chair Daniel used to use all the time, and just went to get a drink of water, but after I got my drink I just stayed by the sink.

After awhile Chandler came to check on me.

"Everything all right Grayson?"

"I'm not going to lie, I've been better, but if I'm being honest...no I'm not doing good."

"You just really wish Daniel waited to propose to you until both of you got home, right?"

"No it's not that...it's...Daniel's new boyfriend. He may have been forced to date Logan, but he's torturing himself for our safety, his kids safety, and his grandkids safety. But what if that's not the case."

"What do you mean?"

"What if he's only doing this not just to keep everyone safe, but because he still feels guilty for everything he put me through, and he's only doing this so he can experience everything he put me through so he can see what he put me through."

"But both you forgave him for everything that he put you through, why would he still feel guilty?"

"Because I have this feeling like he hasn't forgiven himself at all, or maybe Logan is spreading lies about us and is probably trying to make him afraid of us and his kids, plus his grandkids."

"Is this because of that dream you had where Daniel was a totally different person?"

"He wasn't just a totally different person, he was terrified."

"Of what?"

"Everything and everyone?"

"Even you?"

"Yep."

"Wow. I never expected that Daniel would be afraid of anyone."

"Me neither. But he wasn't just terrified of everyone, or a totally different person, because it looked like he barely ate in years, he was mostly skin and bone."

"So we really need to do something is what you're getting at, right?"

"No, not we. Just me. He doesn't want to put you at risk."

"But you put me at risk when you asked to help you with your revenge."

"I know I did, but we managed to survive."

"Yeah, just barely."

"But do you think Daniel knows that he's dating his killer?"

"I don't think so, now come on let's rejoin our parents in the living room."

"Ok."

"Hey Chandler?"

"Yeah?"

"Thank you."

"You're welcome Grayson."
