Weeks past and Jessie couldn't bring herself to speak to Gracelyn; What she had done was uncalled for and she had left a bruise on Jessie's arm, how could she forgive her? It's not like Gracelyn made any effort to apologize, instead she started hanging with Ashley Damneder; the head cheerleader. Jessie walked the hallway to class alone; she kept her head down as focused on getting out of this school, all of a sudden she found herself flying across the science room floor. Everyone quieted down, all eyes were on Jessie and.... Who would do that to her?
With tears building up she got the courage to look around; there stood Gracelyn and Ashley, laughing.
Brandon Green stood up; he was the type of boy who sat in the back of the classroom and kept to himself, he was on the football team but he didn't act it. "Seriously!? That's not cool Ashley... & Ain't y'all friends?" He spoke with much confidence as he help Jessie collect her things off the ground; she thanked in and walked to her seat in the front of the class but Brandon followed, replacing his seat in the back for the one right next to hers. "You don't..." Brandon stopped her mid sentence "I want to" he replied with a soft grin.
Meg picked Jessie up from school again; like she had done since the first incident with Gracelyn. The second her eyes met with Meg, the tears streamed down her face like a waterfall; Meg rushes to her side and pulled Jessie into a calming hug. "What happened hun?" Meg lead her to the car. Not a word had been said on the way to Meg's apartment; the silence was killing Meg, she just held Jessie's hand and waited for her to be ready.
"Gracelyn..." Jessie couldn't finish her sentence, she just kept chocking on the words she needed to speak "She... Embarrassed me..." Meg tried to calm Jessie down "How?" She spoke carefully but as Jessie went on to tell what had happened the anger grew inside Meg's body; she was seeing red by time Jessie stopped talking.Every day after the incident with Gracelyn and Ashley was a living hell; Jessie tried everything to avoid them but they wouldn't leave her alone. In the lunch room they stuck mush potatoes in her book bag, in algebra Gracelyn passed a note around the class stating falsely that Jessie gave the whole football team a blow job, and in art class Ashley flung paint in her hair.
Jessie couldn't handle anymore; her best friend had become her worst nightmare, over what? How could she compete with Ashley to get her bestie back? Ashley has everything Jess didn't; money, a car, she's a cheerleader, and most importantly.... She has Gracelyn.
