"He sure is something huh?" Jessie thought to herself as she sat next to Brandon; he changed all his classes to match hers, he claimed it was for Jessie's protection from Gracelyn and Ashley.
Jessie's thoughts fought back and forth.
"Tell him you like girls!
No!
Just do it!
No!"Brandon leaned over and whispered "Are you okay? You look like you seen a ghost" Jessie snapped out of her daze "Yeah, I'm totally fine" she smiled nervously. "Can we actually talk... At lunch!" Her smile faded as she watched Brandon's reaction as each word fell out of her mouth.
In the lunch room; they sat alone, just the two of them. The silence between them were growing, that's when Jessie knew she had to say something... it was time to tell him "I like girls.." She spit the words out like poison and watched for the change in Brandon's face, but nothing was different; in fact he had a smile growing across his face which turned to a slight chuckle "I'm gay" He returned to his charming smile as Jessie relaxed.
After that day, Jessie and Brandon were more like brother and sister rather than best friends. Gracelyn and Ashley didn't mess with her when he was around, he was her bodyguard almost. Jessie even took Brandon to hang with Meg and he brought his boyfriend Derek around too.
One afternoon the four decided in hanging out at Derek's house; Jessie rode with Meg with the windows down and the wind blowing through threw their hair, radio blasting 80's hits, Jessie in Meg's leather jacket.
"Let's smoke a doobie" Derek implied with a smirk, that pulled Brandon in for a kiss. Jessie instantly threw Meg a worried look; Meg answered with a hand squeeze and soft, warming smile. "Alright" They replied together; Jessie sat nervously, watching Derek roll a doob.
15 mins later they were all laughing at what? They didn't even know. Jessie's body felt tingly as if it wasn't her body, as if she was floating outside herself. Meg was laid her head on Jessie's lap; legs across Derek's lap, with her eyes closed still smiling. Brandon and Derek sat passing the joint, playing with one another's hair; they had a higher tolerance. "How are y'all feeling?" Derek chimed, all the girls could do was nod their head and smile. This because a usual; they'd meet up everyday 4:30pm on the dot at either Meg's or Derek's place, taking turns on who bings the munchies.
