We started running full pace as soon as we left the camp. We hit some very tall grass and ran, faster. I noticed Caleb's heavy paws on the ground and mind-linked with him, telling him to hush up. The moon was already setting. We had been running for a VERY long time now.

Silence was all I heard in the dead of the night. A rustle in the bush answered the question I thought to Caleb. Then I got attacked.

A giant black wolf pinned me down. I grunted and struggled under his grasp. I rolled over and sat up, facing my competitor. He lunged at my neck but I dodged and hit him in the stomach. He rolled into a tree and I caught the rouge's scent. I pounced on top of him and bit his neck, over and over and over until he slowly got colder.

As wolf-shifters our body heat is 30 degrees celcius warmer than a normal human and our body heat when we die quickly lowers until it reaches -28.

I spun around and saw the other wolf pinning Caleb to the ground reaching and snapping at his exposed neck. Caleb's wolf kept dodging but I knew soon the opponent would hit his target. I launched myself at the wolf, bowling him over. He rolled a ways when I released him, scratching him at the same time. He crouched down and I did as well. Then, I saw a very battered Caleb spring on top of the wolf, ending the rouge's life instantly. I howled a long howl then turned toward home. We had no food for our pack.

We decided to go hunt really quickly. Luckily, we managed to get a couple of rabbits and a deer. I grabbed the rabbits and Caleb took the deer. We headed "home".

🌑🌕🌑🌕

We sat around the campfire and ate the deer. I was ravenous. It was delicious when you hadn't eaten anything the whole day.

Our little pack sang around the campfire with mouths full of food. We sang into the night and when the sun peeked over the mountains we went to bed.

We had started quite the odd schedule but it was working for us!
