Max

The next day I woke up to see Max, well feel Max,  sitting on top of me. And beside him, was Kenny.

"Come on Kyla!" Max urged.

I giggled and sat up stiffly. Once I noticed Kenny, smile flashbacks of yesterday played in my head and a small smile crept across my face.

"Ok," I muttered, "you guys need to get out so I can get changed."

"Today is challenge day though," Max pouted, "everybody is living today in wolf form!"

Oh right! I had forgotten! I slapped a hand to my face. I stood up in the large tent.

I made a slight bend in my knees and a growl escaped my mouth. Max smiled and clapped his hands together. Slowly, I felt my bones change shape and then I was on all fours. My large white wolf let out a short howl. Max zipped the tent open and I ran out. Now outside of my tent I heard the giggles of Max and the husky laugh of Kenny. I howled loud and clear, hearing a response.

The response sent shivers up my spine and my whole body heated up. A large brown wolf appeared from my tent, followed by a cheery Max.

"Hey," I mind linked to my mate.

"Hey," he responded.

"Everybody who is in wolf form gather around here," Adam mind linked to us all. I went and found Caleb. When I spotted his brown shape I shuffled forwards to him. I nuzzled his fur and pressed my side to his. I heard a slight growl and looked behind me to see a VERY jealous Kenny. I looked away and turned my attention to Adam. Adam explained that today would be an all wolf day. We would do some games, but we would also hunt, protect our territory, and train. We still had our training grounds.

At the end of the day when we had gone back to our human forms Max tagged around me. When I went to gather firewood he helped me carry it back. When I went with another group to gather wet moss and strong branches for the huts he carried a pail for the moss, the whole time babbling about Kenny. Oh, his name just sent shivers up my spine.

"Right Kyla?" he looked up at me, he shiny eyes locked with mine.

"Huh?" I asked, "sorry I didn't hear you." I hope he didn't catch my lie and knew I had drifted off.

"You and Kenny are perfect for each other," he explained, adding his angelic smile to the package.

Slowly, I nodded."yes," I thought, "we are perfect for each other."

I normally wasn't one for little kids but this kid touched my heart. He was so much like his 18 year old brother, but yet, so different. He had the same smile and same sweet talk, but he seemed more forgiving and easy going. Yes, he was a replica of my perfect, and sweet, mate. Mine.
