I walked to school this morning soaking up the crisp California air and the bright sun rays that shined down on me. I lingered outside of the building for a few moments not ready to see Timothee let alone sit next to him. I was interrupted of my thoughts by a bright and bubbly voice which belonged to my best friend, Naomi.
"Hey Lily," she said with a smile as she approached me. I greeted her back and my dull mood must be obvious because she quickly asked me what was wrong.
"Me and Timothee got pretty close and I thought things were going really well and then Harry told me something really serious about him," I said in a low voice so none of the eavesdroppers around us could hear
"What is it," she asked leaning forward with curious eyes.
"It's not really my business," I said with a sigh "I guess I just didn't know him as well as I thought I did," she nodded seeming deep in thought.
"You know rumor has it that Harry has a huge crush on you maybe you could go for him," she suggested innocently.
"I don't know I think I'm done with boys for now," I pursed my lips at all the awful men that littered my past. She nodded with a smile and then we both walked into the wide doors and into school.
The bell had rung signaling that I was now late for math and I sat in the bathroom clasping my sweaty hands and contemplated just skipping. I shook my head Julian would be so mad if he found out I skipped and especially math considering I was almost failing it. I let out a deep breath slowly finding my way to math and knocking softly, maybe no one would hear my knocks and I could just sit outside. That thought was stopped as the door swung open and I was greeted with the scowling face of my math teacher "Your late."
I nodded at him with my eyes squinted obviously I knew I was late. "I changed seats since you didn't know how to stop talking to Timmy over there," he pointed at him and I tried my best not to look his way. I walked to my new seat which was on the opposite side of Timothee and sent a quick thank you to god.

When the bell finally rang I rushed out of the class ignoring the sound of my name being shouted. I found my way to the library where I always spent my lunch and sat at an empty table and popped in my headphones so hopefully I wouldn't be interrupted, But of course, I was. I turned my head slowly my gaze was met with bright green ones.
"Hey Harry," I said softly.
"How have you been holding up?" he asked me sweetly.
"I've been fine we weren't the closet anyways," I told him not making eye contact.
"I feel bad like I ruined something I just want what's best for you," He told me looking at me intensely. I nodded with a smile.
"Thank you," I told him genuinely "I'm glad you told me I hate being left in the dark.
And so I spent my lunch chatting and laughing with Harry not even thinking of the other green-eyed boy who had occupied my thoughts for so many days previous.
