Chapter 8
Beautiful disaster

"It was a beautiful disaster waiting to happen."

The room instantly grew colder at Taehyung's ominous words, though you didn't have much time to overthink it seeing as Taehyung was quickly pulling you up the tower's stone stairs.

His long fingers were laced in yours, but while he was still a stranger, you didn't mind it. His large hand had engulfed your smaller one, sending hot sparks up your veins.

You didn't know him.

But you wanted to.

Taehyung seemed so... different than what you had expected of the "Queen of Hearts' son". He wasn't short, for one, but also he wasn't cruel or merciless. He seemed kind and curious, like a puppy.

What you couldn't tell from Taehyung's soft voice, gentle eyes, was his past.

He obviously had some type of heavy scars, ones you wanted to help heal.

Hold up.

No.

Stop, Y/N. We just met him, that is weird. He doesn't even know your name!

Engrossed in scolding yourself, you didn't notice the stairs had stopped and in front of you was a door, similar to the garden's. Tall and dark. But this one had a lock on the outside.

The red-haired man in front of you swiftly pulled out a strange-shaped silver key and in moments the door was open.

Beyond it was a scene out of a movie.

A long hallway with tall, white vaulted ceilings and draped with velvety red carpets and curtains. Heart-shaped lamps hung on the walls, cascading dim golden light around you; something inside them was moving but you didn't have long to waste gawking at the architecture.

Taehyung pulled you along down the beautiful hallway and to a dead-end, each time carefully glancing around the corners as if he was being followed.

You didn't notice his hand was still in yours until he slipped it out.

And then you were in a bed chamber.

It was spacious and jaw dropping. It felt much bigger than your little house back on your parents farm. The red walls were covered in elegant, gold swirls, and shelves upon shelves of books encased a section of the room. A white-cushion chairs were seated around a engraved table, and a handful of books scattered about over it.

Your eyes moved over to another, cozy nook by a large window before snagging on the bed. The whole room was big, but the bed looked massive. White-gold covers over a, what looked like, six person bed. The headboard was beautifully engraved with roses, vines, and falling petals. And to match, was a small, live, rose garden near it, a few feet away. The thin veins spilled over a short, waist-high, dresser.

"Wow..." you murmured softly, your eyes finally finding the equally ethereal man in front of you.

He was hastily scooping up a some stray, red petals, trying to hide them away.
