Chapter 25
▌Dancing Graves

"I don't want to live without you."

It was impossible to escape the rain. It pounded and pounded relentlessly. Mercilessly. The rain shook the windows, the trees, and the small flowers beginning to bloom.

The rain did not care about anything, and much less about the little prince.

And the little prince tried to not care about the rain or what the rain thought of him, but it was futile. It would always have power over the prince.

Because . . . it was impossible to escape the rain.

It was a dreary day. Cold and gloomy. A day a normal person would use to perhaps read a book, cuddled up in a cozy blanket, or work on something important—anything to combat the day with happier feelings.

Taehyung, on the other hand, was at a grave.

Not any grave, but her grave.

The red-haired prince stood under the light drizzle of rain at the base of an oak tree, an arrangement of wilted roses in hand.

She was not given a proper grave, after all, being deemed a "criminal" did not give one the best post-death benefits. Though, knowing of the Prince's attachments, some of the royal servants planted an oak tree at the spot.

Taehyung kneeled down, sniffling slightly but blaming it on the rain. Water drops mixed with salty tears ran down his face, down his nose and cheekbones, to land on the soft grassy land below.

It was all the rain's fault.

It was all the rain's fault.

Steeling himself, Taehyung sat down the blackened, bouquet of death, the delicate petals crinkling and breaking at the even the slightest movement.

All the roses on the left side of his garden had died the moment he picked this bouquet, and he had been too afraid to try the other side to replace it. But, it seemed fitting.

Dying roses on a dying love's grave.

For there was always another side of the garden, just for someone else.

You couldn't help but dance.

Everything was going beautifully and you were over the moon. Taehyung had told you his plan to get you home the night before—along with giving you a magical night.

1. You accompany Jungkook to the Blood Moon Ball as his "date" in approximately one and a half weeks.

2. Meet up with Prince Taehyung and he takes you to the West Wing, where the Queen's room is.

3. You both jump through the looking glass and make it to Chess before the moon has reached its peak.

4. You dive into the Well of Wonders.
