Chapter 23
Phoenix Falls; part 2

"All that you are is all I'll ever need."

"What do you mean he's coming now, Seokjin?" you exclaimed, scrambling around your room, keyboard-smashing inside your mind.

Why now? Oh my goodness. I'm barely presentable— He's gonna think I live in a barn and never shower—

"Y/N," the Cheshire man laughed out, "calm down. It'll take him at least twenty minutes to ride over to the Falls. You'll be meeting him there, by way of me, of course." He flashed you a smile that other girls may have swoon over, but at that moment, you were more worried about the rat's nest one could call your hair.

Sleeping barely two hours for a few days tended to come with some consequences; bags under one's eyes, grumpiness, and some not-so-great hair days.

Everything that added up to being a complete, undatable mess.

Not that I wanna date him—

"Y/N," Jin said more sternly, and suddenly was in front of you, grabbing you by the shoulders. "Namjoon will help you look," he trailed off, trying to find a word, ". . . decent."

You resisted the urge to slap him.

His slitted eyes met yours and he grinned that signature Cheshire smirk. "Makeover time, dear."

Namjoon continued to surprise you with his makeup skills, but you were not going to make the mistake of asking how again.

You stared at yourself through the mirror in front of you, touching your cheek as if to make sure you were real.

You were wearing your normal red, checkered dress but Namjoon had applied dark shades over your eyes and then lined it with white and added little stars. With your hair (straightened/curled/put up), you looked like a living piece of art.

Man, living with so many beautiful people was beginning to make you a little narcissistic.

"Thank you, Namjoon," you said, looking up at him with wide eyes. Chuckling, you added, "Just a few minutes ago I looked like I had just crawled out of a grave."

The Madder Hatter only shrugged, "Dearie, you were already beautiful, the makeup just helped to bring it out a little." He winked, and you couldn't help but blush at the compliment, then helped you up and out of the salon-style chair.

Adding a few last-minute touches here and there, Namjoon was finally satisfied and glanced over to Seokjin who was leaned against a nearby coffee table.

His face was the usual blank and the added smirk, but his eyes softened slightly when seeing you. "You look," he paused for a moment, "nice."

"Thank you," you murmured.

Seokjin stood, lean but broad figure shown off by his almost gothic Victorian style clothes. Dark button down, covered by a knee-length coat that was engraved with spiraling, thorny vines, made him look ten-times more ominous than normal.
