21. Wonderland Madness

Maddie was dragging Raven and I down the street. It was a little weird not having people following you around everywhere you went. We reached the Mad Hatter's Tea Shoppe. And it was closed.

"That's strange, I was just here," Maddie said looking in the window "luckily, I have a key." She said sticking the key into the lock and turning it ever so slightly.

It made that sound when something just clicks. Maybe, just maybe, madness, was our way back. We walked in and I smelt the delicious fumes of the tea all around. The Mad Hatter came out of nowhere, like he usually does. Maybe Wonderlandians weren't affected with the strangeness of this world.

"You're back?" The Mad Hatter asked.

"Yup. Why'd you close the shop?" Maddie said.

"Because the people of this realm don't get the madness of Wonderland!" He said. The Mad Hatter grabbed a tea kettle of Charm Blossom tea and poured it into a cup that had been flying by. "Here you go my dear!" He said handing me the cup.

"Unthankful to you." I said in a Wonderland way that Maddie taught me.

"Maddie, do you think madness could be the way back to Ever After?" Raven said.

"Well, maybe. If we know who are the people who made the spell are than most likely, yes." Maddie said.

"Did Madeline Hatter just make sense?" I asked just as Lizzie and Kitty walked in.

"Of course she didn't! That would be off with her head!" Lizzie shouted slicing a card in half.

"But what if she did? Will we all stop being mad?" Kitty asked frightened.

"I hope not." Lizzie said shuffling threw a stack of cards.

"What if everyone stops being... mad?" I asked feeling a strange cold shrill.

"Scarlett, look!" Raven said pointing to the ground where ice was slowly forming.

"Raven, do you think...?"

"I don't know... you first." Raven said stepping back.

I closed my eyes and swiveled my hands a certain way. I felt a icy feeling and threw my hands up. Little dots of soft and cold landed on my face. I opened one eye slowly then the other. It was snowing!

"M-My magic! It's working!" I froze the floor and ran across the room. "This feels amazing." I said building a replica of Olaf.

"Let me try." Kitty said disappearing and reappearing on top of a clock. "Yes!" She disappearing again.

"My turn!" Maddie said grabbing a snake out of her hat, then a shell, a MP3 player, a Katy Fairy album, and a tea cup. "Madness is back, finally." Maddie said throwing the cup across the room.

"What do you mean 'madness is back?'" A familiar voice called catching the cup. "There's the chip." Bella said examining the cup for a chip in it. All of her cups had a chip in them.

"Bella! You know how magic and madness have disappeared? Well my magic's back!" I said making a snowflake form in my hands.

"That explains the snow, and that snake, and that Maddie chicken."

"Maddie what?" I said turing around.

"Maddie chicken." Bella said pointing to the chicken wearing a teacup as a hat.

"Um, Raven... did you turn Maddie into a chicken?" Lizzie said questioning Raven. Then all of us looked at her.

"What? I wanted to try too..."

"Yay! I'm a chicken! Squawk!" She said dancing around the room. "Let's go find Cam!" I said running to the door.

I stepped outside and tried to make a icicle but NOTHING WOULD FREEZE. "Seriously! It only works inside the Hatter's place!" I shouted at a tree.

"You okay, Scar?" Raven said walking outside.

"MAGIC ONLY WORKS IN THE SHOPPE!" I shouted stomping back inside.

"MADDIE GET EVERYONE IN SCHOOL TO COME HERE TOMORROW AT 11:30!" I shouted and stormed out.

{3RD PERSON POV}

"What's up with her?" Kitty asked sipping a cup of tea.

"Powers only work in here."  Raven said turning Maddie back into a human.

"SQUAWK!" Maddie squawked.

"Maddie your not a chicken anymore."

"I know!" Maddie said petting Earl Grey.

END OF CHAPTER. I really thought Scarlett just had to let out her anger about no magic. More characters a coming. 😜
