Phone numbers and Ice cream

Tonight was perfect, Shawn gave me his number and he asked me out on a date tonight after school. The best part is that I didn't even know he went to my school. I quickly took a shower then went to sleep since I had school Tomorrow.

I had set my phone alarm since mine broke yesterday. I turned it off and groaned. I got up and changed into some light washed skinny jeans, a white muscle tank with a flower crown peace sign on it and my brown cardigan. I slipped on my black vans and went downstairs. I poured myself cereal and quickly ate it. I brushed my teeth when I was finished, grabbed my bag and car keys and headed outside. My mom already took Kylie to school since she starts at 8:00 I start at 8:30. My dad was probably at work already.

Once I got to school, I headed inside. "Mia rose please report tho the front office Mia Rose." I went to the front office and when I walked in I saw Matthew. I groaned. "You guys called for me?" "Yes honey this is a new student here and you have second and fourth block with him so can you show him his first and third block please?" I sighed so only Matt and I can hear. "Ya." I say. I grab his schedule and walk out with him following. We arrived at his class and I started to walk off. "Mia wait." He said. "What?" I said. He leaned up against the wall. "You really don't like me hu?" He asked. "And what makes you think that?" I ask in a teasing tone. "We'll one at the movies you called me an ass. Two you groaned when you saw me and lastly you sighed when she told you to show me around. Now all you want to do is get away from me." He said smirking. "We'll what can I say, I have the side where people I like see and then there's the side where I don't like people." I say walking away.

When first period was over I was so mad. Why? Because I had Matthew in my second period. I walked I to class and saw Matthew not in there. I smiled and took my seat in the second to last row. Matthew walked in. I quickly looked down hoping he wouldn't see me. Matthew sat down behind me. I sat up straight and looked at the board. When class was ending we had time to do homework. Matt tapped me on my back. "Yes?" I said not turning around. "Hey I was thinking maybe we could get ice cream sometime?" He said. I had been an ass to him already so all I can do for once is be nice. "Fine. When?" I asked. "Tomorrow?" He asked. "Okay." I said and resumed back to my work.

Lunch finally rolled around. I got my lunch and sat down across from Kate. Shawn spotted me and we smiled at each other. Matthew entered behind him and my smile faded. I guess Shawn saw and turned behind him. Matthew gave him a threatening look and made his way over to me. I have Shawn a look that said help me and he nodded. Matthew sat down next to me. "Hey babe." He said eating one of my carrots. "I'm not your babe and leave me alone Matthew." I say. "Please just call me Matt." "Okay well Matt, please leave." "Hmmm no." He said taking another carrot. "Hey dude she asked you to leave just come on." I looked up expecting to see Shawn but saw a pair of icy blue eyes. "Nash go back to Jack and them!" Yelled Matt. "Thanks for trying." I say to him. He gave me a smile and walked away. "What do you want?" Said Kate. "Who's this fine little lady?" He said . "This is my best friend Kate." I said. "Hey Kate I'm Matthew." He said sticking his hand out. She rolled her eyes and walked away. I followed we with my eyes. She bumped into Shawn. I didn't really care though. Honestly they could get married for all I care, Shawn probably only liked me to be nice. "Jealous?" Said Matt cutting off my thoughts. "Eww no. They could get married for all I care." I say biting my carrot. Shawn then came up to me and said he had to cancel our date. "Okay. Are you taking Kate instead?" I asked not looking at him. "Ya please don't be mad." "I'm not have fun and treat her right." I say chuckling. "Thanks. You really down to earth and not like the blonde girls." He said kissing my cheek. I couldn't help but blush. I looked at Matt and he looked at me disgusted. "What?" I asked. "Nothing. So can we move our little date to today after school?" "I guess and since when is it a date?" I said. "Since now. Bye babe." He kissed my cheek and stood up. "Ew." I wiped my cheek with my hand. "See I told you she lets anyone kiss her like the little slut she is." A voice said. I looked up and saw Lexi. She hates me. I don't know why. "Lexi, don't you know it's not good to brag about yourself?" I say walking away. I hear a crowd of oooo's coming from the back and see Matt and all his friends laughing. I smiled to myself.

In fourth block, Matthew sat in front of me. I was thankful because I felt like he was staring at me non-stop when he was behind me. A random girl came in and sat on his lap. "I'm sorry but are you in this class?" Asked Mrs.Willow. "Oh ya. I sit..." She looked around the room for a spot. She saw me and smiled. "I sit here." She said. She swiped my books off my desk and laughed. "Hey you don't have to be such an ass Caroline." Said Matt. "It's ok Matt.." I said trailing off. I got out my seat. She sat down. I bent over to pick up my books. She kicked my ass causing me to fall. She was the only one laughing. "Caroline stop." Said Matt. I looked at her in disbelief. "What,that's not what girls like us like Matt." She said. "What do they like then? Guys who take their virginities?" I said to her. "Your a little slut you know that?" She said. "No she's not. Caroline that's you. Why are you even here? We broke up 2 months ago!" He said helping me up. I smiled and once I got up he places his hand on my lower back. Caroline saw and pushed me back. I hit my head on one of the desk. I held my held in my hands crying because of the pain. "You can leave my class young lady." Mrs.Willows said. "Gladly." She said. I looked at my hand and saw blood. "We need to take you to the nurse said Matt. I stood up and stumbled because I was dizzy. I grab Matt's hand to prevent me from falling. "Up you go." He said. He carried my like I was a 3 year old. I closed my eyes. My head hurt really bad. "I won't let anyone hurt you ever again." He said. I'm assuming he thought I was asleep. He laid me down on the bed in the nurses office,

Kissed my forehead and left.

Matthew's POV

What did I just do? What did I just say? I don't like Mia. Well I don't know. I'm mean she's an ass but her eyes. Her smile...what the hell am I thinking? School was finally over and I walked out into the parking lot. I saw Mia about to get into get car. She saw me and smiled. She put her stuff in her car and walked towards me. "Thanks for today Matt. You didn't have to be mean to your girlfriend just for-" "Woah! Hold up. She's not my girlfriend." I said stepping closer to her. "Sure seemed like it." She said. I stated at her eyes. She broke the gaze. So do you want to drive with me to the ice cream place?" She asked. "Ya sure." I said. I got in the passenger side and she drove. The whole way over there I couldn't stop glancing over at her. She caught me in the act. "What?" She said. "Nothing..I was looking out your window." I said. We arrived and we got out. We both got mint but she got gummy worms on hers and I got mochi. She was about to pay but I stopped her. I payed and she said thank you. I never like it when girls pay for dates. We ate our ice cream and talked about how much of an ass our teacher Mr.Al is. She laughed when I said his name wrong. Her laugh...Matthew stop! Once we finished, she drove me back to my place. She walked me to my door. "Thanks for paying." She said. "I saw a black van roll up." "Fuck!" I yelled. "Who's that?" She asked. I pulled her inside. We ran to my room and I hid her in my closet. "Matt what the-" "Shut up if you want me to live."

Mia's POV

I shut my mouth. I heard the door slam downstairs. I heard footsteps and a door bang open. "Matthew Lee Espinosa! Who the fuck was that." I heard the voice yell. It's sounded male. "No one! Just a fucking friend dad." Dad? "Where is she!? I saw you pull her inside." "She left." The closet door slid open. He yanked me out. He grabbed a bat from the corner of Matt's room and backed me up into a wall. "Look! Stay away from my son!" He yelled. He smelled like alcohol. He was about to swing but I ran downstairs. "Mia! Wait don't leave!" I heard Matt yell. I stopped dead in my tracks when I heard a thump. I turned around and saw the bat on the floor. Matt and his dad were looking at me. Matt came down. He dragged me outside. We got into my car and drove to my place. "Matt what the hell?" I said. "Mia I'm sorry my dad was drunk."(A/N:I'm sure his dads not like this..this is just a story.) I sighed and played the only thing that relaxed me. Sam Smith. "Can I stay at your place? For to-tonight?" He said. "Sure." I said. "But if my mom sees you were both dead. "Ok." We arrived at my house. I told him to climb my balcony up to my room. I ran upstairs and my parents were asleep already. I opened my balcony door and saw him waiting there. I let him in. "You take the right side, I'll take left." I said. I went I tot he bathroom and changed into my pajamas. I went into my dads closet in the hallway and picked out clothes. I walked back into my room. "Here." I said throwing it to him. I laid down on my side. I heard Matt snoring. I was about to fall asleep,when I felt Matt's muscular arms wrap around my waist. I tried to get out but was no use. "Mia. Stop pulling the blanket." I heard him say. I laughed and fell asleep.
