It took us two days to get back home. All we have been eating are berries and fruit. The lack of meat and protein has made me weak and unable to create new clothes or grow new berries. Everyone else seemed to be affected by this as well.
Thankfully we are back home.
People gave us odd looks. I can't blame them. My hair was in a loose braid and my black tank top was unevenly cut and my jeans are now cut off into shorts. My face has charcoal on it like a football player. Rosie's flower dress was now into two and her long, dirty brown hair was thrown up into a messy bun. The vines around her arms were now cutting into her skin, but there are bigger problems to deal with. Ella and Hayden looked better than we did, but they were both dirty as well. All of us had sagging eyes and had our swords strapped on our backs but we were all fit from running so much.
"Wow, look at these losers," a familiar voice sounded. I looked back and saw who it was. Leila.
I nudged Rosie so we could leave and go find a place to eat but she wouldn't budge.
"You know what, I've had enough of your bullshit. You're a stupid slut so that's why I hate you. I could go on forever with all of your little flaws that you could change but that would take, well, forever," Rosie said quickly.
"C'mon let's go," I whispered to Rosie. But her gaze was right on Leila.
Next thing you know, Rosie had the strength to tie Leila up with thorns.
"WHAT THE- YOU LITTLE BITCH! THIS HURTS! GET THIS THING OFF OF ME! PEOPLE! HELP ME!" Leila screamed.
I grabbed Rosie and we walked away quickly.
"So, that was something," I said.
"Do we have any money?" Rosie asked casually as if nothing happened.
-
We all agreed to stay away from any parents because it would cause too much trouble. We found ate our hearts out and Rosie was able to get the strength to make some money out of her power.
I was able to attract all of the dirt off of everyone. After we were all cleaned up, we went to a local motel and hung out there. Tonight was indeed the full moon.
"What time do you think Robert will be there?" Hayden asked.
"Probably midnight," I replied. Rosie was pacing around the room whispering comments that pumped her up. Ella was sharpening her sword, Hayden was resting, and Brad was chugging down energy drinks. I, however, was just waiting.
And waiting.
Until a figure stood in front of the lot where the haunted house was.
