Alex had not had the easiest time sleeping.

He was covered in sweat and his mind, riddled with anxiety.

Alex always looked up to Melvin so fondly. Melvin's red straight hair, his cocky attitude, his care for Alex no matter what time of the day; thinking of him made Alex flustered, even intimidated for Melvin oh so made his heart race.

"Alex!" His mother called, "Your friend is going to be on his way, get up!"

Alex jolted up. He had been so occupied with worry, he figured he must have been up all night.

"Okay, I'll get ready," Alex said, rubbing his forehead. He got up and walked towards the bathroom.

Maybe today will go by smoothly, he thought. He tried to reassure himself so he won't look like a loser.

After brushing his teeth, he went downstairs. His mom had made him a bowl of Fruity Pebbles cereal,

"Thanks mom," Alex smiled tiredly.

"Gee, you look exhausted, is everything alright?" His mother looked straight into his blue eyes.

Alex shrugged away, "Yeah mom. I'm fine."

Alex looked down at his porcelain bowl.

The crisp-dampened Pebbles wafted gracefully in the pool of creamy milk. He grabbed the metal spoon and hesitantly caught some of the cereal in the spoon and put it in his mouth. The fruity, creamy, and crunchy essence pleased him; it tasted amazing.

Alex went back upstairs and put on his usual attire; some comfy jean-shorts, a snap-back with the bill pointing slightly to the side and a epic gamer t-shirt, this one saying, "Eat, Sleep, Game, Repeat" with the word "Homework" crossed out.

Alex grabbed his signature Minecraft bookbag that was blue with the main character, Steve, with  a full diamond set of armor that says, "Like A Boss," and put in a extra pair of boxers, another t-shirt, a PS3 controller, toiletries, and his beloved DSi with a few games.

Alex, just after packing up his stuff, heard a familiar car honking just outside of his house.

"Alex! Melvin's here!" his mother called.

Alex, without hesitation, rushed down the stairs, waved his mom and his dog, Roswell, goodbye.

Suddenly, his mother yelled, "Did you pack your toothbrush?"

Alex replied at the same volume, "Yes, Mom!" and got inside Melvin's car, in the backseat with his best friend and biggest crush.
