Alex and Melvin cracked their knuckles, the pop created by their fingers satisfied them and it relaxed Alex's cluttered mind.

Melvin turned on the laptop and opened up the grounds of their tournament, "CoolMathGames.com."

Melvin clicked on Run 2 and looked back at Alex, it was time.

"Alright, so I know that you really haven't played this one that much, but it's like the other one except it's got a Skating mode. It basically is just the same but faster, so a little harder to control, I'm sure you'll get the hang of it though," said Melvin.

Melvin rolled out the desk chair and Alex sat down. The chair was a bit stained but not super icky, it conformed comfortably to Alex's skinny back. He rolled his neck a bit and cracked open a can of Sprite, taking a sip of that familiar sparkling, lemon-lime drink. The initial sting of that first sip got his to muster up the determination to train.

He placed his fingers over the arrow keys and space bar, a little difficult for him given his left-handedness. He selected the first level and "Skate Mode", showing a picture of the same grey alien, only this time she has rollerblades. He got through various levels without any hiccups whatsoever, but it wasn't until the 13th level he had his first lost.

"Ahh, yeah, yeah that one will mess you up a bit, especially with this speed," Melvin spoke up, standing behind him.

"Ugh, I would have made it without the giant gaps in the stage, it's impossible!" Alex grumbled.

"Nono, man, you gotta do it like this," Melvin leaned over and selected the level again, then accidentally placed his hand on top of Alex's, "Oh, sorry dude."

Alex quickly slide his hand away, his face a little pink from the slight touch of Melvin's hand, "I-It's okay."

Melvin started the level and eventually got to the part Alex was stuck on, then pausing the game, "Okay, so, right there," he touched a part of the screen with his finger, "you'll want to move it to the wall on the left, which seems very risky given how little space you have, but trust me here. He then effortlessly moved the alien to said wall and made it jump over the giant gap, "Skate Mode makes it so you jump much farther." He paused the game and moved again, making space for Alex.

"Ohhh, okay I get it," Alex said, "I'll try it again." Alex started the level again, this time equipped with Melvin's advice. He got to the previously impossible jump, and to his surprise, he made it across the edge. Alex practically jumped up from the chair in excitement, "Yeah!"

"Nice going, bro! But unfortunately you gotta finish the other 51 levels," Melvin bore the bad news.
