It's been eight years since that high school moment. We part ways on our senior high and college years.
I am now working in a publishing company.
I've graduated last year, BSE English and passed the LET exam last March.
After 8 years, hindi ko pa rin makalimutan ang pangyayari na 'yon.
Unang beses ko yatang kiligin non, no!
Maybe he was my crush that time?
"Fely, ito na yung pinapa-proofread ni Sir Rex." inilapag ni Allen ang makapal na libro sa table ko.
"Woah, Salamat Allen!" ang tangi kong nasabi dahil kailangan ko na magtrabaho. Mukhang gagabihin ako dahil sa kapal ng ipu-proofread ko.
Kinuha ko na ang salamin ko at sinimulan na buklatin ang unang pahina ng bagong libro na ipa-publish namin.
For those who really love books, my job would definitely fulfill your dreams.
Imagine reading the whole soon-to-be published book and you were given a chance to proofread it.
Your name will also be added at the end part of the book as a copy editor. Very fulfilling, hindi ba?
Nasa pangatlong pahina na ako ng biglang...
"Felicity, Good Morning! I have another task for you, di naman masyadong malayo." sambit ni Sir Rex De Guzman, my boss.
"Yes, sir. What is it?" sabi ko at sinarado na muna ang libro.
"Yung book na nai-publish last May, may balak gawing movie 'yon. I want you to go to that productions office. Paki-kausap ang director nila about sa movie na gagawin." paliwanag niya sa akin
"Copy boss. Just give me the address and I'm good to go." sabi ko sa kanya at inabutan sya ng papel at ballpen.
"Good. I'll see you this afternoon." sambit niya sabay bigay ng papel na ngayon ay nakasulat na ang address na pupuntahan ko.
Tumayo na ako at kinuha ang susi ng sasakyan at tumungo na sa lugar ma sinasabi ni boss.
After 35 minutes na dapat ay 20 minutes drive lang na kung hindi dahil sa traffic ay!!!
I parked my car in front of the building.
Pagkababa ko sa kotse ay tinignan ko ng mabuti ang itsura ng building.
It is called Flicks Production.
I entered the building and without hesitation I asked the front desk about my agenda.
"kindly wait na lang po Ma'am. Our director is currently talking to a client." sabi niya and I nodded.
I sat in the couch and grab a magazine.
Hmmm.. the reputation of this production is really impressive.
Madami na silang achievements and according sa isang article, the director is really hands on sa mga projects.
Hmm siguro ito din ang dahilan kung bakit napili ni Rex ang production na ito para sa upcoming movie adaptation ng isa naming libro.
"Ms. Felicity? tapos na po ang meeting ni Director Rey. Come with me." and I followed the girl. His secretary, I guess?
The director's office is at the fifth and last floor of this building.
The secretary lead the way and knocked on the door to inform the director that someone is here to talk to him again.
"You can now go in Ms. Felicity." sabi ng babae na kasama ko.
"Thank you." sabi ko at tipid na ngumiti bago buksan ang pinto.
Dahan dahan kong pinihit ang pintuan and I saw a man standing, looking outside. Parang malalim ang iniisip.
"Uh, Good Morning Director. I am Felicity, Editor in Chief of Rex's Publishing. He asked me to come here to talk about the upcoming movie adaptation of our published book."
dire diretso kong sabi.
"Felicity? I think I've heard that name before..." sabi niya at nang lumingon siya...
"Rover?" "Felicity?"
sabay naming bigkas at tila gulat na gulat na makita ang isa't isa.
I stood there frozen, he's a real man now huh?
"It's nice to see you again Felicity, It's been 8 years.." he told me.
"Uh yes, nice to see you again. Ibang iba ka na ah!" nasabi ko na lang at nerbyosong ngumiti.
"You too.. you look good."
woah... you're too old to feel those butterflies fely!!!
"Come on, have a seat first." sabi niya and I never hesitated to seat.
bakit ganito?? nervousness crept in me.
wake up fely!! you're here for business matter!!
"Yeah, so how are you?" tanong ko sa kanya
"I'm fine, you do really love reading books and you decided to work in a publishing company huh?" tanong niya
"Yes, and I think the same thing happened to you. Look you own your own production company!" I exclaimed
"Uh yes, tamang tiyaga lang naman haha." sagot niya at nahihiyang yumuko.
"By the way, about the movie. What do you need to produce it?" tanong ko para mabalik na kami sa pakay ko.
"We need the original copy of the book. We plan on highlighting the different scene in the book. Not just the beautiful part but also the challenges of the characters." sabi niya at napa-tango na lang ako.
"Okay, when will you need it?"
" I need it next monday, 8 am. Are you going to bring it here?" huh? ano daw?
"Yes, baka ako ulit utusan ni Rex non."
sagot ko.
"Okay, see you again Felicity." sabi niya at nilahad nya ang kamay nya.
"See you again, Director Rover." I smiled and shake his hand in a polite way.
