Infectious Friendship (L: Change The World! L x Child! Reader)

  Maki, ___, Mr. Suruga, the boy and L  entered the crepe truck. Mr. Suruga was driving, and the others were in the back of the truck. L pressed a button, and some hidden gadgets were revealed.

  "If I want, I can kill anybody now," Maki spoke up.

  "Even if that's true, do you think that Prof. Nikaido sent you to Watari for that purpose?" L questioned.

  L then proceeded to place his thumb and index finger on the back of Maki's neck. ___ noticed this, and figured out that he was checking Maki's temperature.

  "You... You know this 'Watari' person, don't you?" Maki asked.

  "Yes. My name's L, by the way," L responded.

  "You're L?" Maki questioned, shocked.

  The crepe truck soon came to a stop, and Maki, L, ___ and the boy exited the truck.

  "Meet us here at 2:00. You should get going, and I recommend you drive fast," L said to Mr. Suruga.

  "So I'm a... A decoy?" Mr. Suruga questioned. They all walked away, and Mr. Suruga stayed in the truck.

  "L, where are we going?" ___ asked.

  "A market. Then, we will go to a café," he responded.

  "Oh, okay..."

  They all arrived at the market, and it was quite crowded. L looked around, and ___ followed him. Maki just stayed outside the market, and the boy was looking at toys.

  L was looking at some gadgets, and so was ___. She had always been fascinated with technology. She figured out that L was buying things to build something.

  "L, can I help you with building whatever you're building?" ___ asked, smiling a little bit.

  "Uh... Sure, you can help," he said.

  "Yay," she said in a monotone voice.

  L's Point Of View

  This girl is adorable. I can't let myself get attached, though. I only have 5 days left... ___ seems fascinated with technology. She is very intelligent for a 6 year-old.

  I am beginning to wish I had more time left... I consider ___ to be a friend, and it is a shame that I won't be able to see her much longer.

  I look over at the little boy and see him looking at a toy robot. I decide to buy it for him. After I buy everything, we all go to the cafe down the street.

  When we get there, I order cake and tea. ___ gets the same thing as me, Maki gets ramen and the boy gets sushi.

  ___ and the boy do math for a little bit.

  "These kids are weird..." Maki said.

  "We judge people we don't understand," I say with a mouthful of cake. "They're Fibonacci numbers," I add.

"They are mathematical geniuses... F sent them, then Watari sent them to me," I explain.

___ stops doing math and helps me with the gadget I'm building.

  "By the way, it turns out that the virus your father gave you wasn't the real thing," I said.

  Maki gave me a confused look.

  "Prof. Nikaido showed symptoms immediately after he injected the virus. You don't even have a fever," I explained.

  "Oh..." Maki responded.

  Third Person Point Of View

  L, Maki, ___ and the boy walked back to where they were supposed to meet with Mr. Suruga. He wasn't there.

  'He must still be getting chased,' L and ___ thought at the same time.

  "We should walk to the nearest hotel. It will take a an hour to get there depending on traffic and how busy markets are," L said.

  They all started walking to the hotel. Hopefully, Mr. Suruga is okay.
