The men crashed on a island off the coast of Cuba..to Arthur's surprise, there is more hell going on here than in the US. With a tyrant who's controlling every move made here, it's quickly established that it's gonna be hell leaving this place. How ignorant he's been to think he had it rough before. Due to his ignorance, Arthur fights along side the rebels here with passion and a need to help and escape himself.

As he pushes himself, he thinks of Sarah. Her beautiful shy smile, big blue green eyes that give him chills.. the way she responded to his touch that amazing night of pure bliss..he has to survive and get back to her. He just has to.

______________

Sarah wakes with a jolt to the sound of loud knocks at the door.
She gets up and tiptoes to the window, pushing the lace curtain to side a little to see who it is. She lets out a sigh of relief when she sees an impatient Sadie, tapping her booted foot.

She quickly opens the door. "About time I was a hair away from kicking the damn thing down." She scoffs at Sarah annoyingly. "Here's your wagon." She gestures towards the side of the house.

Sarah ignores Sadie's angry glare, stepping out to see a black mare and a little wagon. "Thank you, how can I repay you?" She smiles gratefully at Sadie now.

Sadie shakes her head. "You ain't. When you go into town, if they ask your name say Sarah Morgan. For well-being I mean."

Sarah blushes at that. "I know good and well. Do you wish to ride with me?"

"No, I've got other things I have to finish. If it weren't for that I would. Be safe, keep that baby fed." Sadie smiles, leaving her once again.

Sarah hurriedly washed off and puts fresh clothes on. She crams down a bread roll with some cheese. As she is going through the supplies, she finds a revolver in the bottom of the sack. "What in the blazes?" She says aloud. She checks if it's loaded and sure enough, it is. She almost leaves but something urges her to take it. She sticks the gun into a small basket she finds in her kitchen, covering it with a lace trimmed cloth. Then she hurries out to the wagon.

Sarah doesn't know what her world has come to. She just knew it has changed so drastically and now she has a baby on the way. By a man that could very much be dead..

She fights back the tears, heading to the little black mare. "Hello darling. You are a pretty girl. Can I call you Ebony?" Sarah pats the horse, Ebony neighs and lovingly pushes her head gently into Sarah's hand. She giggles. "Oh you are sweet."

She feeds the mare a peppermint she packed, then climbs onto the wagon. She removed the revolver, keeping it concealed by the cloth in her lap as she pushes Ebony on to the little dirt road.

She enjoys the mornings in Lemoyne, the day is cool as of right now, and she knows Lemoyne is a hot and dreaded place after noon hits. So she is enjoying the weather while she can.

The ride to Rhodes is short and enjoyable, she was in and out of the bank like a revolving door. They didn't even bat a eye when she asked for a loan nor did they question her further. She just signed a paper and was on her way. She now owns a little house and 10 acres of land, she is proud and so thankful for Sadie Adler.

While she's in Rhodes, she decides to go into the general store, and pick out a couple of dress for when her belly starts to swell. She could use credit for now and pay it back later.

She gets her things with a smile on her face and a little pep in her step. As she starts to leave the store, a couple walks in, deep in discussion. She overhears the words 'the Van Der Linde gang' and her stomach drops.. "Did you hear that the Van Der Linde Gang is in Lakay? I was in Saint Denis last night and this man, he was ugly as the day is long, stopped me and asked if I knew where they was staying. A feller I was drinking with went straight to an officer, can't say I blame him."
