"You can stop yelling now," A woman's voice said. Friedrich opened his eyes and stared into the lifeless eyes of the black haired man. The look on his face was one of pure shock and horror, blood pooling around his neck.

Friedrich quickly scrambled to his feet, rubbing and flexing his stomped hand. "Alexis.. What are you doing here?" He said, stunned by her phantom like appearance.

"I believe the words you're looking for are, 'thank you'." She said sarcastically, still clutching a kitchen knife dripping in blood.

Friedrich hadn't seen her since they were both children. The jubilant seven year old girl had metamorphed into a quiet young woman, who's atmosphere was that of a sad song; heart wrenchingly beautiful.

"God in Heaven, how this war has changed people..." Friedrich thought to himself as he stretched his hand out and gently took the knife from her bloodied hand.

"Friedrich I need your help, I- I-" Alexis frantically pleaded, tears threatening to spill over on her porcelain cheeks, "I have nowhere else to go Monsieur," She said shakily.

Friedrich walked into the kitchen, "Mademoiselle Bellerosé, please sit down." He called as he sat the knife on the counter next to the sink, reaching into the cupboard for a glass. The knobs on the faucet creaked as he filled the glass with water and turned the water back off.

"My sister.." Alexis muttered, causing Friedrich to turn around, and he quickly spotted a thirteen year old girl hiding behind Alexis.
