Chapter Seven: Return to Hogwarts

Neville got a message from Aberforth Dumbledore that there were three people in the Hog's Head that wanted to enter the castle. He followed the secret passage into the Hog's Head, where he was greeted by Harry, Ron, and Hermione. "Harry! Ron! Hermione! It's so good to see you again!" He said happily. He led them into the Room of Requirement, where everyone, including Ginny and Draco, stood up, cheered, and clapped.

"We're looking for something. It's linked with Ravenclaw. Um, it'll be small, easily concealed. Does anyone have any ideas?" Harry asked. "Maybe you're thinking of the Lost Diadem of Ravenclaw?" asked Luna Lovegood. Everyone looked at her in confusion. "The Lost Diadem of Ravenclaw? Hasn't anyone heard of it?" Luna asked. "Yes, but Luna, it's lost. It has been for centuries now," said Cho Chang. "I don't wish to be rude, but what the bloody hell is a diadem?" Ron asked. "Well, it's sort of like a crown or a tiara," Cho said. "Oh," Ron replied quietly. "Harry, I can take you to the Ravenclaw common room and show you what the diadem looks like if you want," Luna said. Harry nodded and followed Luna.

Later, in the great hall.

Snape strode to the front of the hall, near where the head table usually was. "Now, many of you are surely wondering why I have summoned you. It has come to my attention, that earlier this evening, Harry Potter was sighted in Hogsmeade," he said. "If anyone has any knowledge of Mr Potter's whereabouts, I ask them to step forward. Now," he continued, "those with any knowledge of Mr Potter's whereabouts, who fail to come forward will be treated as, equally guilty," Snape continued. "Should anyone, student or staff, attempt to aid Mr Potter, they shall also be treated as, equally guilty," he finished. The assembled students suddenly gasped as Harry himself appeared in the middle of the hall. "You may have death eaters and Dementors, but I'm afraid you still have a bit of a security problem, Headmaster," he said, and the doors opened, revealing the remnants of the Order of the Phoenix. Snape seemed uncertain for a few moments, then he drew his wand and pointed it at Harry. Then, McGonagall showed up and pointed her own wand at Snape, who lowered his wand for a brief second before pointing it back to McGonagall. She shot a short stream of fire at him, which he blocked effortlessly. She sent another stream of fire at him, and he blocked it again. McGonagall sent a third stream of fire at him, and this time he used it to knock out the Carrows behind him. He then used some impressive acrobatics to confuse McGonagall before he jumped out of the window and flew away like a bat.

"Professor, there's something here that I need to find, but I need time, Professor, as much as you can get me," Harry said. Suddenly, someone screamed loudly as an echoing voice began to speak. "I know that you are preparing to fight. It is folly. Give me Harry Potter, and I shall not harm you. Give me Harry Potter and I shall leave Hogwarts untouched. Give me Harry Potter, and you will be rewarded. You have one hour," said the voice of Lord Voldemort. "Do what you have to do, I'll secure the castle," McGonagall said.

"Draco, I'm not going to leave you again, not at this stage," Ginny told Draco. "You heard what McGonagall said, only those who are overage can stay. You have to go, it's for your own safety," Draco replied. "Draco, you know as well as I do that I'll be safer with you than I will be somewhere else," she said. Draco pinched his nose and sighed. "Fine. Just make sure that you stay safe, okay?" He said. "I will. I promise," she said. They shared a kiss and went their separate ways.
