-Adam's POV-
September - eighty
Today was...wonderful.
Fall had descended upon us so quickly, I didn't have time to be excited about the pretty trees.
"Wanna go for a walk?" Jason quizzed.
"Sure. I've been skipping my workout, anyways," I admit.
He wiggles his eyebrows. "I wish you hadn't. It makes you look sexy."
"Uh..."
I giggle and grab a Twinkie from the cabinet. "I'll just burn this off on our walk," I joke.
Jason punches me lightly in the shoulder and grabs his shoes and hat, checking his hair in the mirror as he walks by. I walk out after him.
The seventy-degree wind hit me hard, and it was beautiful. In my mind, summer was still present. I clutched Jason's hand.
"Do you think we'll be together until we grow old?" I ask thoughtfully.
"Hell yeah. Forever and ever."
We continue to step through wet leaves and admire the quiet afternoon houses, which sported an orange glow. The spanish moss hung sleepily throughout the canopy of bright leaves. It was pleasant to breathe in the slightly humid air, which I really liked.
Jason stopped.
I stopped with him.
Turning him around to face me, I softly placed my lips upon his, a modest kiss. He hugged me tightly. Even though we were in the middle of the road, I wasn't afraid of cars. They could wait.
After our little walk, we got home before dark. Just in time to watch The Phantom of the Opera. I'd never seen it before, but Jason said it was a classic we needed to see.
I think he fell asleep around the part where the Masquerade was ramsacked, but it was nice. His fluffy hair was cuddled into my chest, deep breaths of comfort blowing across my shirt. I smiled.
"I love you, you little bird," I whispered.
I kissed his cheek, turned out the light, and let a blanket float on top of us.
~Morning~
I woke up to the sound of struggling, raspy breathing. Sitting straight up I looked down at Jason. His face was pale.
Immediately, I shook him awake, gently but panicked. He jolted awake and screamed my name.
"Adam! Adam, Adam help me help please oh my God, help, I need you, I need you..."
He continued on like this until I rocked him and whispered things like 'I'm here, it's okay, I love you'. His hiccups and troubles subsided.
"Are you alright now? Everything's gonna be alright?" I cooed.
He gulped, nodded, and nuzzled back into me, emitting obvious comfort in my presence. My heartbeat slowed. I later on got up to cook him breakfast in bed (well, on the couch at least) and he kindly accepted.
"Don't get up from the couch unless you have to use the bathroom. I'm worried about you, sweetheart," I said, "I'll help you with what you need."
"Fine," he grumbled, "but I want a kiss."
I leaned in, expecting pure bliss, only to meet a fat pillow.
"You! You can't do that. No way!"
He laughed delightfully.
I looked at him forbiddingly, then passionately kissed him. He got really into it until I abruptly pulled away.
"Tease," he scoffed playfully to me.
"You deserved it."
