Matt's POV

"Matt! Get back here!" Shiro shouts from down the hall but I'm long gone, running down the hall like a maniac. God, he's fun to mess with! I slow my run to a fast walk because people here are so strict about hallway traffic. This place reminds me of the Garrison so much, It feels like the HQ never burned down. WHo would've thought that such a protected place would fall apart? I've heard that Adam blames himself for the ordeal. He's got some serious guilt issues.

As I'm walking around, I find myself at the front of the building. Like every base, the front entrance has the UE Base logo etched into the floor in different granite sediments. Small particles in the stone shine iridescently, sending up spots of light to the ceiling.

I've seen the Garrison change. In my sophomore year, the seal changed and they did away with the motto. Ante Adventum sui. Adventure before self. I wonder why they chose that.

As I'm wondering in my head I run int Admiral Sanda but I skid to a stop.

"Matthey Holt," She says curtly, her eyes cast down on me.

"Hey," I manage to say out politely.

Suddenly, her hard expression softens, the creases in scowling face diminish.
I think I'm going crazy!

"It's good to run into you. I have someone you should see. Follow me."

She turns on her heel sharply, and for a second I stall, but not wanting to disappoint her, I follow close behind. We walk into the entrance office. I turn the corner and am met a person sitting in a chair with perfect posture, quietly reading over some papers. It's a man with a man with short dark brown hair, ebony skin, and calm blue eyes. He's wearing a grey Galaxy Garrison Headquarters uniform that fits his lean frame. Upon our eyes meeting, the man stands up to his full height spanning at an impressive 6ft and towering over me, an expression of complete surprise.
I know this guy anywhere!

"CURTIS!" I scream, running and jumping at him.

"MAAAAAT!"

I tackle Curtis and he stumbles slightly as I fall into him, laughing aloud, papers falling out of his hands and fluttering to the floor.

"Curt! What are you doing here!?!?" I shout.

Some people on the office turn to us and shush us severely.

"Oh, sorry about that," I apologize quickly.

"I came here for a UE Base meeting, why are you here?" He asks, his voice at his usual quiet timbre.

"I'm here with the paladins!" I explain. Suddenly, It occurs to me what I must do in this very moment.

"Oh my gOD SHIRO AND ADAM ARE HERE!"

"Matt, not so loud. We've already been shushed once."

I look over my shoulder.

"Oh right, Hey Admiral Sanda-"

She's not there anymore. She must've left because we were being too loud.

I look back at Curtis and I urge him to follow me. Curtis puts his papers into a satchel and slings it over his shoulder. I fast walk beside Curtis because I want to get the four of us reunited and the guy is kinda hard to keep up with his long legs and deep strides.

When we have made it to where everyone is training, Shiro has gone back to his desk and is quietly talking to Keith. They are sitting at the desks closest to us.
