Hard at first ( Keith X Jayme )

Chapter One

Jayme's POV ~Dream~
I stood in front of my new Garrison class, scared about today. The fighter pilot who got kicked out before i was accepted was really good so everyone had high expectations of me. I took a deep breath and started. "Hello, I am Jayme Shirogane, 18 years old. And just to get this out of the way, I am Takashi Shirogane's younger sister" i stated before taking my seat. I let out a sigh of relief as i found my friend Pidge Gunderson. We had become internet friends and video chat often, somehow she convinced my mom to let me go here . "You did great Jayme, you can sit with me at lunch so i can introduce you to my friends Lance and Hunk" i nodded.
~Time skip: That night~
I saw Pidge leave followed by Lance and Hunk. So i followed them. "Come up here to rock out?" Lance asked scaring Pidge. I laughed and sat down next to them. "Ah! No, just looking at the stars" Pidge responed startled. I listened to him go on about aliens, then a ship fell from the sky and the Garrison went into lock down. Lance, Hunk, Pidge and I all followed the techs out but watched from afar. Pidge was able to hack into a camera the techs had set up inside their tent and I broke into tears. There on the screen i saw my older brother who last year I thought was dead. We started trying to come up with a plan to get in there until there was an explosion. Lance said something and ran towards the tent after almost all the guards were gone. We obviously followed him. "Oh no, no no no, I'm saving Shiro" lance stated walking into the room where a boy, who looked very familiar and about my age, had one of Shiro's arms around his shoulder, Lance put Shiro's other arm over his shoulder. I ran over and looked at my brother, "is he okay?" I asked and the boy nodded "Just asleep, come on" Lance, the boy and I ran out with Shiro, followed by Pidge and Hunk who had been keeping watch. We ran over to what looked like a flying motorcycle and all climbed on. Then we were off with the boy every now and then yelling for Hunk to lean one way or the other. I felt myself slipping and falling when we jumped a cliff and I screamed, i felt a hand grab my arm and I looked up. The boy had caught me "Shiro would kill me if i let you die" Once we landed he pulled me back onto the craft and we ended up at an older house. I thought it was lovely. After a few hours Lance came into the room the boy had said I could stay in since i was the only girl. "Shiro and Keith just went outside, thought you'd want to know" He said smiling. I thanked him then ran out of the house stopping a few feet from the boys. "S-Shiro" i said, tears filling my eyes, when he turned to look at me. He ran over and hugged me "Oh thank god you're alright Jayme!" He said holding me tightly. He noticed my Garrison Jacket and smiled. Once he let me go I looked at the boy, who i guess is called Keith. "Thank you for saving me earlier, Keith" i said a bit hesitant on his name. He nodded "No problem" I smiled and hugged my big brother again. Keith looked to Shiro "I think you should see this" After that the others came out and Keith lead us to a cave full of different symbols, they were hard to see at first but suddenly they lit up glowing a gentle blue. "They've never done that before" he sighed as we followed the symbols deeper into the cave. I watched the symbols pulse as we walked until we came to a cavern, though instead of crystals or waterfalls there in the center was a giant robot that resembled a lion. I looked at it in awe "Is that a giant lion robot?!" I asked mostly in shocked which earned a nod from Keith. "There's some kind of shield that surrounds it and protects it, I have been trying to get through it since I found it but no luck" he added as Lance ran past him and over to the shield. He placed his hand on it which caused the blue Lion robot to roar and break it's protective shield. "Great job Lance! You pissed it off!" I said as we ran over to it. Shiro was quick to counter me though "No, I think it likes him" I sighed as we watched the lion robot thing lay down and open its mouth, now slightly terrified I asked "is it safe?" Shiro and Lance were at the front of the group, leading us, Hunk and Pidge were in the middle followed by Keith and I in the back. I felt a reassuring hand on my shoulder as we walked "I'm sure if it was dangerous, it would have attacked by now" He informed me, I only nodded and offered a small smile. We got to what looked like the cockpit, you know where all the controls and gizmos are to fly a plane, anyway we started taking a look around when Lance sat in the pilots seat there was a sudden jolt causing me to lose my footing and i fell back. Thankfully someone caught me, i looked up. "Thanks Shiro" I smiled at my brother, who returned the smile and helped me to my feet. "Do you even know how to fly this thing!" Keith yelled at Lance who quickly remarked "Not a clue but it knows where it's going!" Once I got used to all the rocking I sat down and leaned against the wall. Shivering slightly as i felt the coldness of the wall go through my jacket. I wondered where this lion was taking us, feeling a slight panic which faded after i looked out the main window. We were going really slow at first all the stars and planets were going past us in slow motion but then a weird circle appeared before us and the lion stopped for a minute. "I think it wants us to go through" Lance said "It wants us to go through that! Is it nuts!" I asked from my spot on the floor. Lance shook his head before slowly moving the lion through the circle. Stars and Planets became a mix of reds, blues, purples and blacks for a second before we appeared in front of a planet i have never seen before. I closed my eyes and yawned. "The lions going slow, take a nap" Shiro said to me and i was happy to take that offer. "I'm glad you're alive Shiro" I said and heard him respond "I'm glad you're alive Jayme." I let sleep consume me as the image of the stars flashing by replayed in my mind.
