Hard at first ( Keith X Jayme )

Chapter Five

Keith's POV
I look down at Jayme, who i have just tackled and pinned down, and see a bright red face. I feel myself blushing just seeing her this flustered. I felt myself leaning closer but stopped when i heard "K-Keith.....I-I um...." i realized what was going on "S-Sorry!" I apologized and got up, helping her stand up. "Are you alright?" I asked scratching the back of my neck. She nodded before turning to leave and i grabbed her hand pinning her to the wall. "W-Wait! Jayme.....i-i have to tell you something" i knew i was just as red as she was, but she looked at me all the same "I-I.....I love you" i whispered so only she could hear if someone were to pass by. She looked at me in shock, "Y-You what?" Her voice also quiet, I felt myself leaning in once again and i whispered "I love you" with a little more confidence, before planting a soft and gentle kiss on her lips. She tensed up at first but after a few seconds melted into it. I pulled away after that, leaving only a little bit of room between us. I looked into her eyes before hearing her say "I love you too" and she pulled me into another kiss, this one more certain and passionate as she held me close to her. This time when we parted we were both breathing heavy, as if the kiss had taken the air right out of our lungs. I felt myself smile as i hugged her tightly. "I'm glad you feel the same" i said "So are we together?" She asked and i nodded "Yeah, i guess we are" I realize i still had her pinned to the wall so i took a step back. "I guess Shiro wasn't messing with me" she blushed as i said that. "H-He told you?!" I nodded "I was worried when you ran into me in the hallway so i asked him what happen and he told me everything and yeah he gave me permission to ask you out" she giggled and looked up at me before i added "Now i have a reason to be more carful on missions I guess" her expression changed from playful to serious "You need to be stop being so reckless anyway, I don't want to see you get hurt as badly as you were" i sighed "I will try, as long as you stop trying to jump into action unless me or anyone else on the team asks you too okay" i watch her nod before hugging her. "I'll try" she said as she hugged me back.

Jayme's POV
After Keith and I had confessed to each other all the paladins were called to the main deck again. I took my place opposite of the team but i kept my eyes on Keith. Corran spoke this time but i didn't register it. I was reading about it on the screen in front of me. Soon the team ran to their lions and i sat down at the control panel. "I'll be sending you the location of the Distress Signal now, and be safe all of you" this time I didn't get a response "We'll be here if you need anything" i said before turning off my mic. Hours passed and i stayed awake, keeping an eye on the team. Allura and Corran had gone to bed already and i was dozing off when i heard gunshots. I bolted upright, turned on my mic and asked "What's going on team?" Hearing Shiro respond "We're all good, how are things there sis" i sighed "All clear Corran and Allura are asleep so i'm keeping an eye on all of you" i knew i sounded tired, Keith was the next to respond "You should get some sleep Jayme, we'll be fine" I shook my head knowing the couldn't see. "I'll be fine don't worry about me" Hunk's voice came next "Make sure you eat, that goes for everyone else as well" I chuckled "I have a few games on my computer if you want to play those Jayme" Pidge offered "I will totally give them a play" Lance was the only one who didn't make a comment so i thought i could at least make him smile "And the Sharp Shooter of the team is probably thinking about how he'll save the day" i heard a chuckle "You know me to well Jayme" i smiled and sat back down. "Wait a minute.....I heard gunshots, if they weren't from the team then...." I forgot to turn off the mic so the team heard me and next thing i know there was an explosion. I reached over and set off the alarm. Before hearing the team yelling the Galra forced their way into the castle. I powered on my Bayard, put on my helmet and stood my ground. After I took a hit to the arm I hid under the control panel, covering my mouth and praying I wouldn't be found. Soon enough i heard more footsteps coming into the castle. It was at least two hours after the initial explosion and attack. I was shaking as i kept my mouth covered, completely afraid. I heard voices "Go get Allura and Corran" "Where's Jayme?" "Hang on i'm picking up a heat signal, under the control panel" I felt myself shaking even harder as i cried out of fear and pain. Then suddenly i felt a pair of strong arms wrap me up in a hug. I looked up and saw Keith holding me. I sighed and relaxed knowing the team was here. "Are you alright?" I shook my head and held my arm where i was bleeding. Allura and Corran came in with Lance as Keith held me. Shiro came over, took my hand off my wound and looked at it. "Pidge, get me the bandages" she nodded and left while Keith just held me. After Shiro bandaged my arm then demanded that i go get sleep since i had been up for a whole day and some hours. I tried to stand but my exhaustion got the best of me. I fell against Keith who picked me up and carried me bridal style to my room. He laid me down "Get some sleep Jayme, i'll come back to check on you in a bit" he said, placing a gentle kiss on my forehead before, I slowly felt sleep consuming me.
