Swallowed By Fear

Chapter four

"Carl, do not let her out of your sight" Lori said.

"I promise I won't let anything happen to her" Carl mumbled.

Lori kissed both of her children on the heads before leaving with the other group.

-

"Dad do you think will find Sophia" Rick turned around to face his son.

"Yeah I do" Carl smiled.

-

"Look a deer" Rick smiled, it's been a while since he's seen any wildlife.

Carl slowly made his way to the deer with his baby sister in his arms.

Shane smiled, he hadn't seen Carl this happy in a while.

Bang

A shot rang out hitting both Samantha and Carl in the stomach.

Rick could see his whole life falling apart right in front of him.

Both of his children on the ground bleeding.

Quickly Rick ran over to his daughter and picked her up.

Shane on the other hand ran over to Carl and picked him up.

-

Rick ran through the fields as fast as he could.

Maggie spotted him running and called for her father.

Not far behind Rick was Shane holding Carl.

Although the bullets went straight through Samantha and into Carl, Sam is just a baby so it's much worse for her.

Hershel quickly brought Rick into his house when he got closer.

"What happened" Hershel asked.

"They both got shot by your man" Rick mumbled.

"Otis" Patricia asked.

"What's their blood type" Hershel asked.

"He's the same as me but she's AB negative" Rick sighed.

"Very rare not good" by now Shane was already with them and Carl was in a bed whilst Otis was outside talking to his wife.

"Is there more of you" Rick nodded his head.

"Go grab the horse and find their mother and hopefully someone with the same blood type" Maggie nodded.

"Where are your people" Rick shook his head, he couldn't think properly right now, both of his children might possibly die.

"In the woods not far from the highway" Shane told her.

-

"The bullet is still in your son, so we'll have to take it out" Rick wasn't listening, the only thing that he wanted to hear right now was that his children were going to be okay.

"Your daughter on the other hand has lost a lot of blood, there's a possibility that she might not make it" this is not something that Rick wanted to hear.

- (with the other group) -

"Lori, Lori Grimes" Maggie called out.

"I'm Lori" she said worried.

"Both of your children have been shot" Lori felt her heart break.

"Anyone here have AB negative blood" Maggie asked.

Daryl sighed before raising his hand.

"Good we need you, find the house that says Greene on it" Daryl nodded his head.

- (at the Greene's house) -

Rick was standing on the porch waiting for his wife to come.

Minutes later Maggie showed up with Lori behind her.

The two ran over to each other and hugged.

"Daryl's coming he has the same blood type as Sam" Rick nodded his head.

-

"Thank you Daryl really" Daryl nodded his head, it wasn't really that big of a deal.

Samantha was lying on a pillow whilst Carl was on the bed.

Rick gave his hat to Carl, but Carl didn't want it, he wanted his sister to have it.

Obviously Samantha couldn't wear it yet but when she is old enough the hat is hers.

"Carl what's wrong" Lori noticed that her son was looking kinda sad.

"I promised Sammy that I would protect her but she got shot and almost died" Carl cried.

"I think Samantha forgives you" Rick told his son.

"You think so" both parents nodded their heads.

At that moment Samantha woke up crying.

Lori left the room but came back a minute later wth Sam's diaper bag.

-

"There all better" Lori said putting Samantha putting back down.

"Mom can I hold her" both parents shook their heads no.

"Both of you just got shot, let both of you rest and then you can hold her all you want" Carl nodded happy about that.

Shane walked into the room and smiled at Samantha.

He kissed her on the head before dragging Rick out of the room.

Minutes later Rick came back and both of his children were sleeping.

He kissed both of his children on their heads before sitting back down beside Lori.
