It was 5 am on a Sunday when Lola's alarm rang off. She hit snooze and went back to sleep. This was a day she wished never happened. She was going to move again.

"Lola, Lola!" a voice called out. It was her mom. "Get up we are leaving in thirty minutes" "Go away!" she yelled back to her mom. "That's it!" her mom said in frustration.

Lola let out a loud groan as she crawled out of bed. She fixed her nightgown as she unlocked her door and went downstairs.

"I see someones finally up" her mom teased.

Lola groaned

"Well good morning to you too" her mother chastised. " Okay you need to get a shower and put on some clothes because we need to get going, the truck is gonna be here any minute"

"I don't see the point " Lola said suddenly.

"What point are you referring to? " her mom asked.

"Moving. Again!" Lola answered her voice raising after each word.

"Honey we talked about this" she replied.

"Well it doesn't make any sense." Lola snapped backed. "The last thing a teenager needs is to be transferring from one school to another, like every five months. It's frustrating and It's becoming a rather annoying cycle now. New school, bad first week, first friend, new best friend, crush, and then another move."

Lola was clearly angry at the situation she's in. This was the third time in which her mother had to relocate due to her job.

"Honey you know I have no other choice." her mom said softly. "If I don't take this job we have nothing left, and your no-good father doesn't give a dime. Just work with me please" her mom pleaded, feeling emotional towards the end of her sentence. The tears were coming but she pushed them back.

There was a brief moment of silence. Lola sighed and nodded her head in agreement. She was just frustrated.

"Oh my gosh look at the time!" her mom shouted. "Go get dressed, I'm gonna call that moving truck company, they should have been here minutes ago"

Lola did as she was told. Twenty minutes later the truck finally arrived. Lola and her mom went outside but Lola stopped and turned around. This was her way of saying goodbye to the house. Her mom saw and knew and proceeded to her jeep. A minute later and Lola got in the jeep and they were on their way.

In the car Lola's mom was driving and Lola was next to her. Lola was listening to the music on her iPod. She turned up the volume to the max so that she couldn't hear her mom. She was tuned out.

Two hours later and they were still on the move. Lola took out her earphones. "How much longer is this going to take? " Lola asked impatiently.

"About an hour or so" she replied.

Lola grunted leaned back into her seat.

About twenty minutes later Lola fell asleep. When she woke up she had reached her new house. "Well? " mom asked.

"Well what? " Lola asked.

"Do you like the house?" her mom replied waving her hands at the two-story house

"I don't know I just got hear, didn't I?" she groaned. Lola got her suitcase out of the car and walked up to the new building where she would now live for the next year.  Her mom instructed the workers as they began to unpack.

It took roughly an hour to get all their stuff out if the truck and into the house. It will be a few days until everything is settled properly.

"Your room is upstairs, second door on the right" her mom informed her.

Lola did as she was told and went to her room. It was slightly bigger than her old room.  She began sanitizing the closet before entering her clothes.  After an hour she decided to stop for the day. She had managed to get most of her belongings in place.

Lola's POV.

After decorating my room I went downstairs to get a drink of water but when I opened the fridge I saw that nothing was there.

"Mom where's the water! " I shouted louder than I needed to for no reason "In the cooler, and while your there could you start unpacking those in the refrigerator?" " No! ". I shouted back.

I started placing cases of bottled water, juices, and some other things into the refrigerator. When I was done I picked up a bottle of water and ran back up to my room. I took up my phone and started texting Matt. This was my boyfriend or at least I still think he is. I didn't want the move to get in between us so as soon as I was finished with my room I texted him.

Me: Hey there, I'm finally home. Text me when you get this. -Lola ✨

I took a sip of water and I started thinking about what would this new school be like. I already know how It feels to be the new girl, but I just had this feeling that there was gonna be something different, something special." I'm just gonna have to find out tomorrow.
