I got up at 6am. I tip toed out of the room because I didn't want to wake anyone. I sneaked out of the cabin to get some fresh air. Every morning as a kid my dad and I would wake up early and go for a walk. I really missed those days. I wondered around a bit and stopped by the lake. I sat down on the bench and tried to relax. I kept hearing a splashing sound. I looked around and I saw a male figure sitting at the other side of the lake throwing pebbles. By the looks of it he was pretty good. He got up to fifteen bounces. I could barley reach five. I got up and I started walking around slowly. I didn't want to disturb him. When I got close enough, he started to look familiar. Then I stepped on a twig and he turned around. I hid behind the nearest tree.

" Is someone there? " he called out.

I kept my mouth shut

" I can see you "

I gave up the battle and came from behind the tree. Then I realized who the person was.

" Brendon? " I said astonished.

" Yeah, big whoop " He said and turned around and sat back down

I wanted to walk away but my tongue got the better of me.

" Is something wrong? "

" Why would there be something wrong? "

" I don't know, you look kinda down " I stepped further.

" Why do you even care. Don't you hate me? "

 Do I  hate him ?

" No I don't. Why would you think that ? "

" Don't act stupid. Your the girl who transfers from school to school and probably gets hit on from the school's player who you probably think is a prick. "

Should I be offended or show sympathy towards him because he called himself a prick?

" I'm at lost for words " I stepped closer. " Can I sit beside you? "

He patted the spot next to him. I walked over and sat next to him.

" So can you really tell me what's going on "

He sighed at my question. " Basketball "

He told me about how he's under so much pressure from his parents about getting into college. His dad pressures him into playing basketball because he never got the chance to. Chances are he gets a scholarship and forget the academics.

" I pushed myself so hard to become team captain as a  junior. I stayed up all night shooting hoops, working on my reflexes and my speed. I never really got the time to sleep. I had about only three hours every night. My mom on the other hand want's me to get into a good college if the sports didn't work out. She puts me all these AP classes. I can barely keep up." He leaned backwards. " Basketball and ten AP classes, It's just too much. This Camp is the only time I get to relax and be a regular teenager. Hang out with the guys."

His heartfelt story touched my heart. I thought I had problems. Now I was literally at lost for words. Behind all that arrogance is a real human being. I was about to open my mouth but someone spoke into the bullhorn.

" We should get going. " he stood up. He offered me his hand and I accepted it. We both walked back to the cabins.

I Know this chapter is really short. But what the heck. What do you think. Did Bad boy Brendon surprise you with his good side, sorta.
