Heartbreak – part 6
Tom’s POV (next morning)
Everyone has left and today is the day I take Steph on our first date. I’m so nervous; I don’t know what to say to her. I hope it all goes well.
Steph’s POV
Today is the day, mine and Tom’s first date! He insists on doing it all probably, which means me and him staying away from each other all day so we don’t know what each other is wearing and he says he wants to go outside and ring the door bell and do it all probably. I can’t wait I’m so excited!
Steph: Omg, Emily I have just realised I have nothing to wear!
Emily: It’s fine you look about the same size as me, you can wear something of mine!
Steph: Aww thank you!
Emily: Here are all my clothes what do you think you would like to wear?
Steph: Can I wear that hot pink dress with the black belt and black cardigan please?
Emily: Yeah course you can and here are some hot pink shoes that will go nice with that.
Steph: Thank you so much Emily!
Emily: I will leave you to get changed!
(2 hours later)
Tom’s POV
I stepped outside and rang the doorbell. I hid the box of chocolates and red roses I had brought for Steph earlier, behind my back.
*Door opens*
Tom: Wow Steph, you look beautiful.
Steph: Tom, you look, well as handsome as ever!
Tom: I brought you these. (hands Steph the box of chocolates and flowers)
Steph: Thank you!
(Steph hands the chocolates and flowers to Emily who is watching with a huge smile on her face)
Steph: So where are we going.
Tom: Well I was thinking about a picnic in the park then a romantic walk. What do you think?
Steph: I love the idea, but where are you meant to get a picnic from?
Tom: Here.
(Steph turns around and Emily hands Tom a picnic basket she had made earlier as she already knew the plan)
Tom: Right that’s everything, shall we go.
Steph: Yeah let’s go!
(Tom grabs Steph’s hand and they walk hand-in-hand to the park)
(At the park after the picnic)
Steph’s POV
This is perfect, perfect boy, perfect location, perfect night! I really like Tom and I don’t want to do anything to mess this up, I’m just worried about the fans after last time they thought we were dating, what will they do now it’s official!
Tom: Babe, you okay?
Steph: Yeah, I’m fine sorry.
Tom: It’s fine! Ready to go for a walk?
Steph: Yeah let’s go.
(Tom helps Steph of the ground and they walk hand-in-hand around the park grounds)
Steph: This is amazing!
Tom: You’re amazing!
Steph: *giggles*
Girl 1: Hey look its Tom Daley!
Girl 2: Let’s go and say hi!
Girl 1: Okay.
Girl 2: (to Tom) Hi Tom we are some of your fans I’m sorry to ruin your night but can you sign my phone case please?
Tom: Yeah do you have a pen?
Girl 1: (hands Tom a pen) Would you be able to sign my top?
Tom: Wow you got a Daley’s angels top, I like it!
(Girl 1 giggles and Tom signs the phone case and top for the girls)
Girl 1&2: Thank you so much!
(The girls walk off)
Tom’s POV
(10 minutes later)
Steph and I are enjoying each other’s company in the peace and quiet when I notice a flash out of the corner of my eye. Then I hear girls screaming and more flashes. I can hear the words “girlfriend” and “what’s her name” being shouted out at us but that is all I can make out. I look at Steph and get her up on my back. We start to run away from the girls but there screams just seem to be following us. I dive in to the nearest bush and put Steph down. I push one finger up to hers lips telling her to be quiet. The screams start to fade as if further away. I pick up my phone and start dialling Chris’s number.
Chris: Hello?
Tom: Chris it’s me, Tom, me and Steph are on a date and we have just been spotted by screaming fans. Can you please do me a huge favour and pick us up at George St.?
Chris: Yeah of course, will be there in ten minutes, meet me so you can just jump in the car and we can go.
Tom: Okay, thank you Chris, I owe you mate.
(Tom ends call)
Tom: I’m so sorry Steph I know this is not what you wanted.
Steph: Don’t worry its fine; it’s not your fault!
Tom: Come on, let’s go and meet Chris!
(Tom and Steph walk hand-in-hand to George St.)
Steph’s POV
I knew this would happen. The fans love Tom; I’m just scared I’m going to get hate again. I like Tom and I don’t want anything bad to happen between us.
(5 minutes later Chris’s car pulls up and Steph and Tom jump in the back)
The car journey back to ours was silent, but me and Tom still sat hand-in-hand. When we got back to his we both thanked Chris and walked up to the door and we both walked in to the house. After everything that happened it was still a perfect night and I really like Tom. I hope we can do this again sometime soon. I just hope the fans don’t hate on me after seeing me and Tom together tonight!
