12:20pm, History, Language & Magic Center, Room 10 with Miss Piper Mclean

"I hope you all had a good lunch." Piper Mclean looked over her class. Violet scoffed, glancing over at Natasha who was sitting next to Synthia.

"If you'd like to call it that." Natasha rolled her eyes at the response and Synthia shot Violet a confused glance. Miss Mclean also offered Violet a look but Violet was flipping through the textbook and wasn't paying attention.

"Alright, well." Miss Mclean sat down on her desk and pulled her legs up so she could sit cross-legged. She was a young native american woman with brown hair that was braided with a peacock feather and color changing eyes. She was dressed in the same orange tee-shirt that Miss Chase had worn, jean shorts and high top converse. "What were we talking about before the bell rang?" Synthia raised her hand, waving it back and forth slightly. Miss Mclean smiled and nodded at her.

"We were discussing how many times Mister Grace as nearly died." Miss Mclean grinned.

"Ah yes. Always a fun topic. I'm pretty sure my boyfriend has gotten more concussions than half of the demigods combined." (Hi! The Author here! I'm preferring to live a very happy lifestyle so I choose to ignore that certain things happened! Examples: Infinity War, Jaws 3 & 4, Tremors 5 onward, etc. In this case, I'm choosing to ignore that Burning Maze ever happened so we can all move on and live very VERY happy lives.) As the rest of the class joined in on the conversation or just listened in, Synthia turned to Natasha.

"I meant to ask you on our way back from lunch, how was your lunch?" Natasha copied Violet's snort from earlier. Synthia's eyebrows raised. "That bad, huh?" Natasha sighed.

"Well, not really. I mean," Natasha jutted her chin at Violet. "When she was there it wasn't overly fun. Other than her convincing Elle Chester to do magic." Synthia's face brightened.

"Really? I have mythology with her. She seemed sort of quiet. She's a daughter of Hecate, right?" Natasha nodded.

"Yep. And she's my roommate." Synthia blew air out of her mouth in a puff.

"I kinda wished I signed up for a roommate but meh. To late now." Natasha nodded and snapped her fingers.

"So, why are you taking french?" She asked, shooting a sideways glance at Synthia. Synthia shrugged and messed around with her quill.

"I dunno. I didn't really find the other languages interesting. I mean, I'd love to learn ancient greek but it's not really practical for me. I couldn't really use it. But there's the french wizarding school and it would be nice to communicate with them in their home language." Natasha twisted in her seat so she was actually facing Synthia.

"How many schools are there?' She asked. Synthia began to list them off on her fingers.

"Durmstrang, which is in like Russia or somewhere else up north. Beauxbatons, which is in France. Ilvermorny, which is in the US. Hogwarts, which is in England and the Salem Witch Institute, which is in Massachusetts." Natasha grinned.

"That one's kinda self explanatory." Synthia grinned back.

"Yeah. It's kinda sad that more Professors aren't from my dorm. I meant like, international Professors. We could have had a french wizard teaching us." Natasha quickly glanced up at Miss Mclean but she was still engaged with the rest of the class. "I'm guessing you're taking French because it's the language of love." Natasha shrugged.

"Something like that. I can already speak it in a very basic manner but it can't hurt to learn more. I wonder why she's taking it." Natasha stated, jutting her chin towards Violet. Synthia nodded and both of them shot a look over at the girl. Violet had stopped flipping through the textbook and had her feet up on the desk, scrolling through her phone.

"Could be any number of reasons. French isn't really a revenge language. Maybe it's the second best thing to Russian." Natasha and Synthia sniggered and Violet glared at them over her phone. They quickly stifled their laughter and turned their attention back to the front of the class. "I can't wait for Saturday. I hope it's the Wizards get to put an activity first." Natasha frowned.

"What are you talking about?" Synthia glanced at the clock.

"Each Saturday night, the school puts on an activity. Each of the dorms gets to put one on and the whole school has to participate. So, I'm hoping that this Saturday is the Wizards. I'd kill to play some Quidditch right now." Natasha raised an eyebrow but didn't push the issue.

"Bet my dorm does Capture the Flag." She muttered under her breath. It was more to herself but Synthia heard her and nodded.

"Yeah. Tributes hold Hunger Games. I have NO clue what hunters do but I don't know much about their dorm anyway." Natasha offered her a dry smile.

"I know a little bit about them. It'll probably be about as fun as the Hunger Games or Capture the Flag." Synthia tilted her head to the side in confusion.

"You don't like Capture the Flag?" Natasha sighed and rested her chin in her palm.

"Not overly. I'm not big on the outdoors or actives like that." Synthia pulled her glasses off her face and began to clean them on the sleeve of her robe and considered this.

"What sport did you take?" Natasha laughed.

"I took archery. I'm pretty handy with a bow plus I knew I wouldn't have to move around that much. I also kinda hoped it would be indoors but no such luck." Synthia nodded.

"I've seen the archery range. It's impressive." Natasha snorted and Synthia patted her shoulder sympathetically. "You could always talk to Donna Noble, the secretary or Headmaster Dumbledore and see about getting your schedule changed." Violet, who'd been loki eavesdropping on the pair, dropped her feet off her desk and leaned over towards them.

"You can't You can only change it after winter break. Even than you can only change electives and sports if you're in P.E." Natasha frowned and sat up.

"How do you know that?" Violet smirked and leaned back in her seat.

"You hear things around. Not to mention, I actually read the packet they sent to new students." Natasha glared at Violet but Violet raised her hands in mock surrender. "Hey, don't hate me, sweetie. I'm just passing along information." Violet propped her boots back up and got back onto her phone. Synthia looked between the two girls.

"I thought demigods couldn't use cell phones because they attracted monsters." She told Natasha and Natasha nodded.

"We can't but the wizards built a barrier around the school and some of the other teachers helped upgrade it so we'd be safe." Synthia smiled.

"That's good. I mean, at least now I don't have to worry about being attacked by a harpy or something on my way to class. Natasha grinned and her and the bell rang. Miss Mclean jumped to her feet off her desk.

"Alrighty! You should all be headed to the Electives building but if you'd still like help getting to class come up here. The rest of you, I'll see you tomorrow!" Violet scooped up her Vans bag, knocking it into Synthia before flouncing out of the room. Natasha glared at her retreating back as she pulled on her own bag. Synthia, however, seemed unrattled.

"What class do you have next?" She asked as they left Miss Mclean's room, heading for the doors. Natasha glanced at her schedule.

"Journalism with Mrs Pond. You?"

"That sounds fun! I have law with The Master." Synthia rolled her eyes, smiling. "Whoever that is."
