Twilight's POV~

Rarity looked my reflection in the mirror. "You look amazing darling!"

I studied myself briefly before sighing. "It's just a concert! You went ahead and overdid it!" I said, fluffing my newly curled hair, similar to the style I wore to my brothers wedding.

"Don't be silly! Something worth doing takes time, and trust me, it's worth getting prettified for your girlfriend!" She smirked.

I rolled my amethyst hues. "She's not my girlfriend..."

"Not yet anyway..." Rarity mumbled.

"What?!" I snapped, daring her to repeat.

"Oh! I forgot, mascara!" She squealed.

"Mascara?" I frowned, looking at her as if she had done enough. "Of course mascara!"

There was no arguing with her. "Fine, just don't make me look like a hooker." I surrendered.

"Are you calling me a hooker!?" She raised a brow. I held my hooves out in defence. "No!"

She shook her head in amusement and grinned. "I was just teasing silly! Now, here comes the hairspray!"

I coughed violently after the fume-like gas had dissolved into the hair, seeming to not effect it much.

"Sorry bout' that, but I think I'm almost done." As she fussed with my eyelashes I could hear a dragons footsteps enter the room.

"Yes spike?" I asked automatically.

"I'm ready to go!" He seemed cheerful. Rarity and I turned around to face spike, with my right eye only done.

"Oh spike Darling, you can't go! your too young!" Rarity reminded.

"Sorry spike, maybe when your older." I said motherly.

"But this never happens! Twilight Please!" He begged.

"No spike!" I scold. "No more talk about this. He dragged himself upstairs. Rarity finished with my left eye and sighed.

"Sad isn't it?"

"What?" I asked, checking my reflection once more.

"I feel bad for little spike. In all my time in equestria, this is the only time something like this has come to town."

My smile faded. "I know."

"I think you're ready now Twilight. Have fun."

"You're not going?" I looked at her confused.

"I'd not rather. You know me, I prefer elegant social get togethers, not pop concerts. Besides, it looks like I'm going to be playing babysitter again."

"I though the CMC's were having a sleepover at Applejack's-"

"No, darling I meant spike." She had a caring smile. "I don't want him to feel lonely, plus I could cheer him up, since I have nothing better to do."

I knew Spike could look after himself, but rarity made a valid point.

"Okay." I glanced at my wallclock. "Oh my Celestia! I have to be there in 5 minutes!"

I quickly gave my unicorn friend a hug and galloped out the door...
