"Wake up Lunah, we have a problem."

I shook Lunah awake. I felt a little bad, but it was partly her fault.

She got up slowly. "What do you need?" She yawned.

"Hey Lunah? What's going on?"

Her eyes lit up, and her jaw dropped. "Oh, no. Bryan, why?" I saw her rush downstairs, a terrified look on her face.

Thalissa, who was putting on her socks, turned around and looked me dead in the eyes. "Is that Bryan? Why is he here?"

I shrugged. "I have no idea, though, your parents don't seem too happy to see him."

Her eyes opened wide. "Why's Bryan here?"

"Did you not invite him? I thought he lived in the White State, and came to be safe."

She shook her head. "Bryan is an old school friend of Lunah's. He doesn't live here. He shouldn't be here, he's in potential danger."

I felt my heart skip a beat for a second. "Oh dear, I'm going to go talk to him."

I rushed down stairs. Maybe we weren't actually saving all the innocent. If people came in here just before we set up the shield, they would have no way out of the bomb. My heart was beating fast, and I tripped on the last step.

Lunah was talking to Bryan. "I mean, I'm glad you're here. Well, not really glad you're here, but glad to see you. See, we... "

"We're bombing the government. Sit down, and we'll explain everything. I don't want any casualties."

"Wow, I think my mind's blown."

Lunah laughed. "Yeah, you'll get used to it. For now, stay with us. Tomorrow, things are getting crazy. You can be in my group; I'm in Group Three."

I smiled. "You two seem close. I'll leave you be. Thalissa said you were friends from school, so I bet you want to catch up with each other."

I smiled as I walked away. The two of them were such cute friends. Just like me and Devan. Or Zabrina. Or Ryan.

I sighed. I wondered if Ryan still liked me. I bet Zabrina still likes him. I smiled. Maybe it wasn't too late for the two of them.

I walked up the stairs back to the bedroom where Zabrina was. I tiptoed in, and sat on her bed. She was asleep, but stirring.

"Hey, Zabrina. Can we talk?"

She woke up, jolting forward. "I promise!" She yelped.

I chuckled. "You good, Zabrina?"

She rubbed her head. "Huh? Yeah." She yawned. "You want something?"

I nodded. "So, you know how you like Ryan?"

She looked at the floor. "Yeah. But you like him and he likes you. Well, actually he really likes you."

I laughed, dryly. "No, not quite."

She frowned. "What do you mean? He talked to me all the time about you. 'Course, he hasn't talked to me about you much this week."

"That's because I don't love him."

Her jaw dropped. "What?!"

I shrugged. "He doesn't mean any more to me than my brother, or you, or my cousins. I like him, sure, but as a friend. We kissed, but I only really did that because he liked it, and I just went with it. Before he told me he liked me, I thought the two of you were cute. Besides, I only thought I liked him because you liked him. I was wrong. I just like him as a friend, as a brother. I told him recently."
