It was Friday. If you asked Evan how he got here so quickly, he wouldn't be able to tell you. All he remembered was all of this week he was is learning lyrics, and cramming for classes. It came and went in a blur of motions, but nonetheless,
Today was Friday.
If you asked him if he was prepared for this audition, the answer would be yes. Physically, anyways. If you asked him if he was prepared mentally, a strong HELL to the NO, should suffice. Nonetheless, there Evan sat waiting for the last few minutes of home room to pass. The clock above ticks, until it reaches its final notch. The bell echoes loudly.
Evan shot up out of his seat, as his classmates do the same. He grabbed his items, and walked out the door, slowly heading to a dream or nightmare. Evan had yet to figure out which one. He reached the school's seemingly abandoned auditorium. He set his bag down in the front row of seating.
Evan hoisted his light body onto the stage that was gaping back at him. He stood staring into the nonexistent audience. He started singing the lyrics to burn, softly growing stronger with each note. When he finished, a set of hands began to clap in the crowd. He escapes his dazed setting and returns to reality, with Christine staring up at him. He blushes intensely, feeling uncomfortable in his own skin."Evan, that was amazing!!" Christine roars.
"U-uh t-thanks," he says holding in stifled a scream."That's all I needed to hear, you got the part!"
"Uh I-I can't."
"Why not?" She asked inquisitively.
"I-I don't d-do well with c-crowds.."
"O-okay, well we can cast someone else, but if you change your mind, come see me." She said understanding.
He nodded and hopped off the stage, walking slowly outside. A car was waiting for him in the lot. He smiled when he saw Connors face grinning.
"Hey tree boy, need a ride."
"Y-you didn't have to w-wait for me,"
"I wanted to, and I was gonna be waiting for Zoe anyway, now get in, before I make you."
Evan giggled at the comment and stepped into the car. As he closed his door, another one opened from behind. Zoe stepped in silently, looking angry.
Evan turned to face her concerned.
"W-what's wrong Z-Zoe," he stammered.
"Fucking Jenna Rolan texted everyone about me being bi."
"O-oh,"
"It's not like I'm ashamed, but I wasn't ready to say anything yet, and no doubt Alana's pissed."
"W-why would she b-be mad?"
"Jenna also gossiped about Alana being my girlfriend."
"A-are you?" Evan managed to say.
"Yeah, but we wanted to keep it on the low. There goes that plan."
Evan turned away from the fuming Zoe, and looked at Connor. His brows were furrowed and he was muttering curses under his breath. Great.
