What the FERN: hey mom, can I have some friends from theatre come over? Probs stay the night?
Mom: Sure sweetie, just make sure you actually get some sleep. And don't be getting freaky, while I'm gone. I'm out late again
What the FERN: 1. Thanks, 2. Eeeewwwww
Mom: Ha, I'll see you tonight
Evan clicked off his off brand phone, and pocketed it. He watched as him and his friends attempted to all cram in the same car. He giggled at their stupidity, but eventually they succeeded. Of course there were some people on top of each other though. Zoe sat comfortably in Alana's lap, while Evan sat on one of Connor's legs fumbling with his hair. Michael played with Jeremy's hair as Jeremy squeezed himself into the leg area in front of the row of chairs. Jared was on the wheel, watching in mock disgust of his friends practically giving each other lap dances. The newest of the friends Rich, Jake, and Christine sat outcastes from the couples, faking disinterest much alike to Jared.
"Okay, to Evan's house everyone," Jared finally exclaimed turning on a Hamilton pandora station. Jared and Michael rapped (I almost wrote raped, I need sleep.) along to 'guns and Ships', and as each song turned the cast would belt the lyrics. Congratulations played and Zoe and Connor had the most emotional sibling moment ever, causing some of the crew to cry. Evan had never felt so at peace with people and it made him smile to think he wasn't alone. But then 'Cabinet Battle 1' played.
Jared and Connor hated each other on their own, this song was just helpful for their characters to hate each other too.
Jared started smoothly copying the lyrics and when done had Connor red with fury. Connor sang the rebuttal, and everyone laughed until they cried when he reached 'I'll show you where my shoe fits!'Several songs later they arrived at Evan's small home. He stepped to the entrance and turned the key lightly. The group followed as he led them inside.
"So w-what do y'all want t-to do?" Evan asked now unsure of their presence.
"Let's play spin the bottle," Christine suggested in her usual bubbly voice.
"Okay," Zoe said.
"Fun," Jared spoke suggestively.
"That works for me," Connor said hoping they would catch his reference. What do you mean, you're in a room of theater nerds, of course they'll catch it.
Evan smirks to himself about the joke, and steps out to retrieve a bottle.
"What'd I miss?" He inquired in a Southern accent, Virginian to be specific.
Everyone laughed solemnly, at the reference to Hamilton. Now with everyone seated he passed the bottle to Christine who spun it with ease. It landed on Michael, and Jeremy made a face of mock offense.
"This will be easy since both of us are gay as fuck." Michael stated.
They leaned into each other and quickly closed the space between them.
Jeremy looked horrified, and the rest of the group laughed at his terror. The bottle was then passed to Rich and he flipped it with intense speed. When it stopped it landed on Jake. They kissed quickly, both of them red in the face afterwards."Oh my god, I'm totally bi." Rich exclaimed.
"Welcome to the club," Jeremy said excitedly.
Everyone laughed and Jared snatched the bottle from Rich's grasp. He spun it wildly. Evan. Evan turned bright red, and Jared shrugged.
"C'mere treeboi," Jared said as he grabbed Evan's face.
They briskly touched lips and separated momentarily.
"You better not be getting handsy, Kleinman." Connor joked.
Jared raised his arms in surrender.
"Wouldn't dream of it, Murphy." He shot back.
Evan giggled at his boyfriend's need for possession.
"Y'all are dumb," he said playing with Connor's hair.
"I'm done with this game, let's do karaoke." Zoe said excitedly.
"Fun!" Alana replied.
Everyone else nodded in agreement. Jeremy pulled up lyrics while Michael grabbed a hairbrush, to use as a fake mic. Zoe snatched the brush and grabbed Alana's wrist for a duet. The background music for 'It's Quiet Uptown' played and they sang in harmony with each other.
Next up was Connor and Evan as they sang 'Seventeen'. Evan perfectly sang Veronica's part, as Connor voiced JD, in the background.
Can we be seventeen
Is that so hard to do
If you could just let me in
I could be good with youWhen they finished the crowd roared with applause.
"Well then, now that I've cried my eyes out, let's go to sleep, it's getting late." Jared stated.
"Okay, let's build a fort to sleep in." Christine said happily.
"Sure." Jake agreed.
They stacked and piled pillows high showering them with blankets. The group smiled at their work and decided to go to sleep.
Sorry for the short chapter, I'm just so done r/n
