Hope and Sara were on a mission in 2012. They had to exile a man named Donald Trump to a remote island before he could become president and create World War 3. They landed in New York, right in front of the Trump Tower. Suddenly, they heard screams coming from down the street. Aliens were attacking, and a giant black portal opened in the sky. "Oh no!" said Sara. "We need to help people!"

"Yeah!" said Hope, even though she had no fighting skill whatsoever. "Um...how?"

"Wait..." said Sara. "You can't fight?"

"No."

"Well, bye! I have no use for a girlfriend that can't defend herself! And I have another girl!" Sara ran off, leaving Hope once again broken-hearted.

"Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!" yelled Hope to the sky. "Oh life, why must you be so cruel!" Hope was alone with her soul again. She collapsed to the ground and her head fell into her hands. Tears streamed down her face as she accepted her fate. Just as she was about to walk away into the sunset, a red head chick in a form fitting black super suit jumped down from a building and landed right in front of her. The lady embraced Hope in a heartfelt kiss. And Hope was happy again.

"Who...who are you?" said Hope breathlessly. "I love you, whoever you are."

At this point, the narrator of this story must step in to say that yes, Hope was in love again, and yes, this book is about Hope's love life.

Now, to continue the story...

The beautiful young woman pranced closer to Hope and ran her hands through Hope's hair. Hope felt a spark fly between them. This was her true love.

"You do?" asked the woman. "Good. You should. I love you too."

"Let's go to lunch," said Hope, a grin on her face.

"Okay," said the woman, who's name Hope still didn't know. They walked into the sunset together, despite the fact that it was noon and they were in the middle of a city. The woman threaded her fingers in between Hope's.

They went to a little cafe that had escaped the destruction. They sat down facing each other, and Hope said, "So, how has your day been?"

"Amazing once I met you," the woman said lovingly.

Hope squealed excitedly. "Thank you so so much!"

They ordered bagels and tea. Hope ate hers hurriedly, since she hadn't eaten since...before Loki had left her.

Remembering this, a single tear leaked down her face. Love. It was a poison and a gift. It was everything and nothing. It made you or it killed you.

"I..." Hope swallowed nervously. "I can't do this."

"What?" The woman looked shocked. "Why?"

"I don't think I can ever love anyone again. Not after Loki." The woman collapsed into hysterical sobs, her face turned pink and puffy. She slammed her hands down on the table in frustration, shaking the tiny tea set. She stormed out of the shop, her feet slapping on the crisp pavement. Hope collapsed in pain. "Oh, my heart," she sniffled sadly.

Then she pulled herself off the ground and walked away.
