Hope walked, unable to contain her grief. She cried and cried, and her tears made a new river. She walked all the way to Yosemite and walked straight in without paying, since the person normally at the booth had dissolved into ash. She walked all the way to the top of a mountain, where she found a small lodge.
"Is anyone there?" she called, tapping on the door of one of the buildings, shivering slightly. "It's cold out here..."
Hope was surrounded by snow, since it was winter, and she was only wearing a thin t-shirt and some shorts. Luckily for her, the door open, and she found herself eye to eye with a man.
He was short, with messy brown hair and deep brown eyes. "What are you doing here?" he said.
"I'm running from a broken heart," Hope said distractedly.
"Well," said the man. "I'm sure we can fix that. Come inside. My name is Dan, but you can call me Dan the Man that Can."
"Dan," said Hope in wonder. "It sounds like something I've been looking for all my life. Dan... I think I love you."
"Of course," said Dan, flashing her a grin. "Who wouldn't?"
Hope laughed for the first time in what felt like an eternity. "Dan the Man that Can, will you marry me?"
"Yeah, sure," said Dan. "But there are a few things you should know..."
"What?" said Hope. "Surely nothing could take my love from you..."
"Well," said Dan. "I live here. The bathroom is outside. There's no lunch, only breakfast and dinner. It snows and rains a lot. We don't have WiFi-"
"NO WIFI!?" cried Hope. "I can't do this, I can't... I'm so sorry, Dan... I can't live with you..."
"Fine!" yelled Dan. "Be like that! Why would I care? You're just a stupid little girl!"
He stormed off, and Hope collapsed in the snow. Suddenly, something happened. She closed her eyes, and saw all of them.
All of her past loves.
Loki. Sara. The red-haired woman. Slowpoke and Fastpoke. Harold. Lena. John. Lena. And Dan. Their faces stood out in her mind. Each one painful.
"No more," said Hope. "No more. I will never love again. I will destroy the world, for it has caused me pain and grief."
She stood up, and her eyes glowed red as she became evil. "They will regret ever being in love with me."
And she walked silently into the forest.
