Tommy and Kirsten are in their apartment on Maxwell Street in Chicago, Illinois. They just got back from their trip to Nashville. Tommy has been more possessive than normal since they got back. Kirsten heads to their bedroom and begins to unpack both of their luggage.
"Hey, babe, how's the unpacking coming?"
"It would move along faster if you were to help," she says, wincing when she sees his face alight with rage.
"What did you just say?" Tommy asks whilst grabbing her hair at it's scalp and flipping her toward the wall. He shoves her up against the wall and shouts, "You know housework is a womans place!"
"I know, I know, I'm sorry, please forgive me. It just slipped out."
"It just slipped out," he says mockingly as his hand forms a fist and he swings toward her face. "Maybe you should learn to hold your tongue so that nothing like this happens."
Tommy let's her go and she slowly slides to the floor and sobs. Tommy reaches for her phone and hurls it at her. "Here, why don't you call the cops. I know that's what you want. Isn't it?" He turns to leave and just as he reaches the doorknob he turns to look at her. "I'm going to get a drink. I hope that you have the luggage put away by the time I get back." Tommy twists the doorknob and exits and he slams the door shut.

Meanwhile in Nashville the band Anthem Lights are preparing for a United States tour. They already know which states and cities they are going to, but they have yet to decide when and in what order.
"So when should we go to Chicago?" Caleb questions his bandmates.
"Well, we already have Nashville as our first stop so why not second or third." Joey replies.
"Wait, we have to think logically about this. We should go to all the places in between here and Chicago first. It makes more sense," Chad says quickly.
"Wow," Joey starts, "I didn't know Spock was in the house, Mr. Logic." Chad proceeds to stick his tongue out at Joey. They then get into an argument about which is better Star Trek or Star Wars.
"Guys, woah, there is no need to fights here, Star Wars and Star Trek at both amazing." Spencer says trying to be the buffer between the two grown men who act like children. "Personally I think our second tour location should be Chicago because the kids on the tour of our studio were from Chicago and I think we should let them come for free. Maybe have there teacher make it an extra credit assignment or something."
"You're thinking about Kirsten, too. I'm worried, did you see she was still with the guy who broke her wrist. We really got to pray that she goes to the cops or at least leaves that abusive relationship." At that statement the bandmates who are more like brothers bow their heads and ask the Lord for guidance as for what they can do to help this girl they met at a diner.

Kirsten slowly gets off the floor, Tommy left to get drunk which means she has hours. She grabs her jacket and heads off into the Windy City. The 21st district is right down the road and she thinks it is time to go to the cops. She's had enough of being slapped, beaten, and constantly berated day in and day out. She was scared to go to the cops, Tommy is a big guy, who knows what he could do to her.
She sees the district in front of her and slowly approaches the staircase out front. She walks through the entrance and approaches the front desk.
