Previously, in Part Ⅰ: Shuichi and Y/N are undercover as Mr and Mrs. Suzuki at a party hosted my the Namakura family, a international trade giant and suspected black market dealer. The pair's goal is to identify an insider, through short conversation with guests, based on his "profession" as a stock market investor. Once the agent is located, Y/N will "accidentally" spill her drink on this agent who will then hand her a handkerchief with key information about the date, time and location of the Namakura's next shipment sewn into the lining. Hopefully the duo can accomplish this and slip out of the party without alerting the Namakuras or anyone in their inner circle.

As the silver doors shut and a low ding sounded, both Y/N and Shuichi breathed a sigh of relief. The navy-haired boy's heartbeat arm hadn't stopped shaking, but besides that, his upright posture and stone-cold expression gave off the aura of importance, his golden-navy eyes piercing with an intense stare. Y/N's demeanor was simliar, but more haughty, with hints of sultry movements as she let her legs glide over the floor effortlessly. Shuichi glanced to Y/N as if he wanted to say something, but she quickly leaned to him and whispered, "Surveillance"

The movement was quick and natural, as if she has simply leaned over to whisper something sweet and flirty into her "husband's" ear. The detective simply nodded, but inwardly was impresses at her quick adaptation.

"You have reached the fourteenth floor."

ding dong, bing bong

The door slid open, and just as Y/N pulled Shuichi out, she leaned over once more and whispered, "We can do this. Everything will be easy. We're just acting, and I'm here with you. We'll stick together, so no matter what, everything will be okay."

and now, we continue........

As the pair drew closer to the ballroom, the faded sound of light jazz music grew louder and louder, as well as quiet chatter and tapping heels of the guests. As she and Shuichi reached the large, marble and gold-plated entrance doors, Y/N hesitated.

No no no Y/N. You are not letting nerves get to you now. You're so close. You can do this!

Before she could decide against it, she shoved the cold marble open, and her senses were almost overloaded with the noise; music and talking and laughing and dancing and colors and light, but she didn't let her persona slip in the slightest. She kept walking as Shuichi held the door open for her, then linked her arm in his and remarked with a smile, "The Namakuras really went all out for this one, didn't they!"

Though he remained mostly stoic, Y/N could see the slightest bit of surprise in his golden eyes, no doubt from hearing a new accent, no, an entirely new mannerism from her. She had to keep reminding herself it was his first field mission, and well....she knew how shocking it could be. Seeing this as a cue to take the lead, she added, "Let's go grab a martini love, I'm dying to get a lil' buzz in my system!" Taking this hint he nodded and began walking with her towards a small bar in the back right of the room where a large portion of guests had gathered. She didn't actually plan on drinking any alcohol of course, it was basic principle than any hindrances of the mind or reflexes while on the job were to be avoided at all costs. But a bar meant people, and people meant interaction, and interaction meant they were one step closer to accomplishing their mission.
