A quiet life, filled with the simple joys of living. The smell of homemade bread drifting through the window of a small cottage on the Scottish countryside. Wandering over the highlands and letting the wind brush your cheeks and tousle your hair. Oversized sweaters and steaming cups of tea. The gentle glow of the sun going down over the sea. The early morning fog setting the stage for dramatic book readings. Sprigs of wildflowers and plants spontaneously popping up around the yard. The laughter of a few close friends gathered together, reminiscing of times long past. Busy little towns filled with the hustle and bustle of people going about their normal lives. Getting lost in thought as you sit by the window in the rain. Making a baby smile and coo by putting on a silly face. Listening to the heartbeat of someone you love. Life is so full of small and insignificant moments, in which you realize what it truly means to be alive.
We often get so caught up in the big things, in the milestones yet to come, that we miss the very essence of life.
The essence that resides in simple moments, through which we unveil the beauty of humanity.
